That's an interesting point that you make Pars. It is possible that there existed temperature differentials between the pile and the surrounding air. I didn't stick my hand in to see.
However, I am very familiar with the process of decomposition in compost/woodchip piles and significant thermal reactions usually only occur in the early stages of the decomposition process. Given that this pile is at least 6 months old, this kind of reaction is unlikely at this point. However, I can't disprove that possibility.

this thread is pretty ridiculous. You found a wild cube but dont wanna share prints with your friend? Like you said there's unlimited cubes in texas, why fight over a print when you can both stabilize your "varieties" and have them completely different coming from 2 different fruits? Either I'm not getting something here, or you're really confused on mushroom genetics and reproduction.
And I just have to add, giving the job to a guy that just 4 months ago asked how to mist his SGFC... Hashed has no idea what he's getting himself into or how to do this. I've seen his posts. No offence meant, just a reality check.

I think the attitude is that anyone who wants to give the thankless task of stabilizing wild genetics a go, should be allowed. We have so few new lineages these days other than the ones crafted via crossing. The purple mystic was distributed to 100's and we finally have some decent circulation. Yet nothing really stable or consistently unique other than grainbrains rust spored PM which I believe he is still working on.
It just seems selfish to keep wilds to oneself. When going about a stabilization one should attempt to grow "all the mushrooms" so as to not miss out on potential. The more hands the better.

Well it's gonna need to be someone other than me lol. After the maddening task of stabilizing two double recessive traits into a stable lineage, I'm content to rest on my laurels. Unless I was already stupid enough to start another impossible attempt. Yeah I'm fucking dumb.

Blackd0ve420 just gives wild PM prints straight from specimens from his Purple Mystic field does he not?
I strongly believe that I'm fully capable of taking on this job start to finish un-assisted, if I fail miserably I will have to pass it on, I'm not that foolish, but that's not going to happen. I'm going to take this shit and run with it all the way to success, better fucking believe that.
And once I have succeeded, Subsistence and I shall be celebrating the completion of our variety by me releasing 100 prints in a 100 print celebration giveaway thread in the Marketplace. Along with me offering the shroomerys best of the best and my favorite users a print when it's 100% done.
That way the variety will be complete when it's released.

Yes he gave out wilds. I have one myself and a first gen clone as well if I had the inclination to mess with it. That was pretty damn cool of him. Best part was that my PM were also the first cubes I ever had come up outside for me. They were beauties.

Did anyone get a print of these? Or working with their genetics? With Hashed/Ghost0420 being banned for scamming or whatever, I'm hoping these spores got out to someone. They're pretty darn cool and it'd be a shame to see them lost. Cheers and thanks!

Well, that's what you get for trusting someone like hashed. I mean, the guy did fuck a guy in a trade IRL and then taunted him about it online. How low can you go?
