I know mate, I like dialogue of the constructive kind. Don't worry, it's in good hands.
Once I actually receive it, shall be making a huge post about the story so far and the plans for the future.
If you have any suggestion or thoughts, by all means, throw down.

Agreed. Enthusiasm is great but in a years time no matter what direction it goes you might be less stoked. Not saying you won't be able to do something cool, just letting you know that lots of times stuff like that ends up being less fun than you think.

Impossible, I'm in a constant state of perma-stoked.
But yeah, I get what you are saying, no doubt the RW is a giant challenge for you and ALOT of hard work, but you are on the closer end of finished, one would assume. Congratulations in advanced, and I can not wait to get it in my print collection.
You took on the task off crossing two varieties and then stabilizing them, no doubt a ginormous challenge.
Then you got me, about to take on the task of domesticating and stabilizing a wild print...
It's going to be a ginormous fucking challenge, but it's one that will bring me great joy and happiness, if it was not fun I would not do it.

Yes I'm on the home stretch. The hardest part was the second gen where I test fruited 2 dozen substrates with no luck. I nearly gave up, it was a stroke of luck that kept me going. A forgotten plate popped a fruit that met the criteria and was discovered just in time to be cloned. If not for that I might have given up. I started this project well over 2 years ago. Nearly done.

Dooooooood. You guys are fucking cool. Finding new strains (maybe), isolating it and then naming it and then arguing about naming it?? Sounds fuuuuuun.. I'm excited to keep learning about Fungi haha

The bickering is distracting, but don't get it misconstrued.. For someone to actually go through all the hard work stabalize wild genetics with some new desired traits is a noble task and valuable contribution the the community.
However at this point nothing has been proven. We don't even know if the work will be truly worthwhile, but there is potential. I'm interested to see where (if anywhere) this goes.
I also suggest strongly pushing for the woodloving cube traits, (if they present themselves) over a traditional cube substrate. Variety is what makes it awesome.

I'll be doing both.

I feel like it would be a lot more work to do both, and more likely be detrimental to your intentions with this variety. Most people when trying to stabilize a strain will select for certain traits that they like to try to narrow the pool down to those genetics so whenever you grow those out your are likely to get your desired traits. By doing both, you'll likely result in a muddled up strain with variable results as it spreads throughout the community and destabilizes.

Hashed said: They are most likely cubes, so yeah, after we get the microscope spore pictures and shit done, then it's time for me to get to work, spawning the myc to both woodchips and typical cube cult substrates like BRF cakes and CVG monos, ect...
Then once I get fruit, Substance and I agree upon what genetics we like, then I begin my stabilization and domestication journey. If they do take both woodchips AND typical cube cult substrates, there will be a woodchip version AND a typical cube cult substrate version!

I think the cool growing temperature trait is also desirable and should not be lost. Out of season fruiting!

Shit is dope as fuck, will spawn myc to outdoor woodchips and when it fruits, it fruits.

And I'll also be working with typical cube substrates, but I have stated all this shit multiple times, any one got anything new they wanna discuss?
Outdoor woodchip ones and typical indoor cube substrate ones will become separate versions of the variety.

"Epiphany in the closet"?
Brush up on your agar work Hashed, you'll have a bit to do. Wild genetics are fun though.
