don't breath that peat dust. The little hairs are shaped in away they get stuck on your lungs and will irate for a long time. Not cool.

Peat would be a cheaper alternative. I would keep the CVG for when I need it for inside grows. I think that's why NC recommened it.

yeah man.. feel like they sold me compressed dip as coir haha!
it smelled just kinda earthy and fine, when i prepped it, and then a couple days later(i left it in the PC, where i prepped it) when i was gonna put it in a freezer bag to save it in fridge, it smelled like that, so i just dumped it..
It was called "Nature's Footprint"... bah!
I mentioned it here, also, and dont wanna jack a thread, much less two! sorry OP, haha.

Okay so, I'm not home currently and I had my sister stop out at my house to check the cube patch. The two together are obviously cubes, is that reddish species russula or just a cube in bad lighting haha?

It's not a cube. Looks like some stray polypore. This is why I always tell people to ID stuff out of their planters or gardens. Never know what else can make home there. Don't forget to snip your mushrooms at the base (no twist and pull outside) so it doesn't damage the mycelium.

Print them if they're too dry for the bluing reaction. A drop of water on the cap helps while printing if it's being stubborn or you can swab it. Spore color tells us almost as much as a picture does in some cases.

They are cubes. I put them there.
This is them in their early phase. Obvious b+

It doesn't mean other mushrooms won't grow around an outdoor patch.
The back right mushroom in this photo isn't even a gilled mushroom.

At this point I need all of my colonizing jars. The mycelium caked still looked pretty hydrated and smelt great it just wasn't giving time-worth flushes anymore so I broke it up and layered it; one small layer of broken CVG spawn and then add a layer of wet compost on top. I continued doing this till I reached the top where the compost is 2inches thick
In all honesty this isn't a proper ''outside patch'' I just wanted to experiment with a spent mono and see if I can squeeze anything out of it. I am pretty sure the mycelium has a lot to eat other than itself
Would be cool if I had a plant pot of shrooms haha
I also agree with Russula sp btw
