question about temp fluctuations
    #23385816 - 06/26/16 09:41 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

The room I have at night gets about 68-70℉ and around 8 pm is at around 79-80 my AC is at 74 but the room faces west with the sun set you guys think that big of a temp difference matters ?

Where are you at in the growing stage? Colonization of cakes/grains, bulk subs, or fruiting?

Not really a huge deal.. making the temp swings a little less wild could be beneficial but those are pretty normal night/day temps so I mean... eh.  I would try to keep it between 68 and 75F.

Ya everything was staying at most 76 in that room but we been having some major heat waves where I'm at if I was at my other house it would be easier it's block but up here it's a double wide so poor insulation even if I had the AC lower it still wouldn't keep that room at 75 because of the sun beating on that side you know

That should be fine. How long does the temp remain at 80? Right now my temps are about 73-75 when the lights come on in the morning By the time they go off at night the temp is around 80.

I also use 300 watt spiral compact fluorescent with 6500K the size of a full roll of paper towels.  My cubies love the extra light and little raise in temps daily.  It also helps keep my RH steady

Usually about the same as yours my lights run from 8 to 8 so I'd say from maybe 5-6 hours at most

You should be fine if you don't get any higher in temps. Just an idea but why don't you get a mid sized fan to push cooler air in from outside the door or hallway? That will help stabilize temps close to the rest of your home. As long as you don't point it at the stuff and dry it out. You could also reverse the direction to pull the heat out if your ac is on and there's no vent in that area.

That would work but I have to keep the door shut and locked for certain reasons if it starts getting any worse I'll have to get a portable AC today was the first day I noticed it was at 80 I know temps for cubes is 68-75 prime but just wanted some opinions on what's going on you know

If you live in a drier climate apparently homemade swamp coolers are pretty damn efficient for cooling single rooms.
