Pics or it didn't happen ------- Ninja edit Condensation happened on my jars and they turned out fine. From my experience I would say it's normal and nothing to worry about
As long as there's no discolouration of course Metabolites will be a yellow colour and usually indicate some sort of bacterial infection

Your sub mix has moisture in it from when you made it. Condensation happens from temp difference outside your jar. Is there a heat source near your jar?

The mycelium itself is a heat source during colonization. So if your environment is cooler or warmer than the jar itself then condensation occurs. Mycelium is several degrees warmer than the environment anyways, which is why incubators are not really needed in this hobby unless you have unfavorable temperatures below the mid to low 60s. Your jars will be fine if you stay within 65-80. Anything above that and you are pushing your luck with it becoming contaminated.

Great advice above.
Also when your jars are done with colonization, you'll see the cake pull away from the glass during the consolidation period.
It's normal, just try not to move your jars around too much when they reach this point. Your dry verm barrier which harbors contams can fall down into it.
You're a few weeks away but this is what I'm rambling about.
^ The tape above is for marking purposes so please don't confuse it with some kind of filter or something.

Not sure if this an insult or an actual question? I'm not a puppet or some alter ego if that's what you're insinuating.

It's not an insult, it's just that usually when people come in, have 15 posts per day right off the bat, and are giving advice like they've been here a while, it's because they've been here a while. Of course if this were a puppet account admitting it certainly wouldn't be on the agenda so now I'm not sure why I bothered asking..
If you're not puppeteering, then thanks for your contributions. If you are, then, try a little harder maybe? That's all.

Lol no worries. Ive been visiting here for many o years. No pro or TC level by any means. A typical paranoid person I suppose, but I finally wanted to help share and continue to learn. I posted in the pub so I wouldnt litter this subforum with another rambling. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23377099/page/1

How do you go from lurking and getting all this done on your own to wanting to step in and spoonfeed people answers though? That takes like, either some strong willpower, character, or conviction or something. That's like having evolved to be able to breathe in space and deciding you'd rather hang out here while the world ends. I always thought the lurkers were the people who really had life figured out, knew better than to get sucked into answering goofy ass questions all the time.
I'm half joking, but half not. You'll notice that's a trend with me, if you aren't already familiar.

Oh I know you. See I've been creeping through your mind all this time. Just a casual viewer that sits in that dark corner in a room with beady eyes.

C'mon CosmoKramer Can't you find better ways to waste your time on the forums, rather than spoonfeeding helpful, detailed advise and piece of mind to the noobs?.. get a life man

Eek! Trolls....
I've been active 10+ years and have seen this before....people arguing about the exact same process only slightly varied to produce the same results.
Makes perfect sense!
The jar looks fine and yes condensation is normal.

I'll do what I want with MY time. And no, sarcasm and scrutiny won't run me off. Why are others concerned with what I'm doing or saying? I don't come on here to troll other users.

Yeah it seems pretty heavy these days lol. Hard to know what people are saying sometimes because I'm usually rather straight forward. Apologies if that wasn't intended as a kick in the nuts. Just trying to help ppl
