If you have not already, a good place to start is to double check that all your equipment is working properly and to recalibrate your humidity sensors.

So it is hard to tell, your sub looks moist but looks like your fruits hit a dry, no return state at some point. Did it get SUPER dry in there for a day or so? Also, how are you going about fruiting? Temps, and pin initiation strategy? Kings dont usually need very much water, I have my Rh at 80-85% and little to no misting.

usaully keep rh around 85 to 90,my temps were at 15 , but r now hitting 17 18, i need a bigger ac with the heat i believe, i have 2 pond foggers in big room that are on 45 min off 15, exhaust always running, intake goes into ac room with 8 inch blowing into fruiting room,co2 stays round 1200 ppm exhaust fan 6 inch, i dont spray

I have been, but am having mixed results. I justdid an experiment with using coir in a thread on here, it wasnt great, other than that I have used peat/verm/lime, but I felt like it contaminated super quick before my second flush. So far my best yields are coming from uncased blocks, HWFP 20% wheat bran, 3 weeks incubation, 1 week at 50-60 degrees to pin in the bag and then cut them open when I have a good pin set.

ya i left a few bags uncased, they made it before the melt down, im using 2o percent bran and wood pellets now, its going better, before was triing to go with unsterilized pellets, worked if room was at like 12 degrees, in heat not so much, casing im using 50/50 peat verm and lime, this is my first batch ive sterillized everything and definetly worth the extra time, going without casing on next 100 bags i open, cleaner is better it seems, one less step and less work to clean them too, what are you using to cool yur room if i can ask

you are really just peeing away a lot of electricity if you're just growing kings and no recirculating your air. There's no need to dump the air more than once an hour or so. You will have to make sure you have adequate humidity though since the AC will suck moisture out of the air. If you can't fog your room out then you might want to consider upgrading that as well.

i have the ac in another room in the window, with fresh air blowing in there. then a fan blowing into the fruiting room, the fruiting room is 24 by 10 feet with 2 ultra sonic foggers. i dont have much problem with humidity, i think i will try to keep it at 86 from now on the lady i sell them to wants big caps and small, since ive put the wheat bran they seem alittle on the big side, triing to keep the air circulation high to keep them more like she wants ive only been growing kings for bout 6 months so any info is helpful

my new bags just started to crack, feeling pretty defeated, humidity seems perfect, goes from 80 to 90 every half hour, the only thing i can really think of thats changed since they were working is the temp which goes from 16 to 18 and i cant get it lower. possible the baby king variaty doesnt like it over 15, Thats all i can think of at this point, ive got about 500 bags to experiment on,

yup, that batch went from bad to worse, i through out all of them, it was in seperate room and humidity was high and hot, since then ive move the new ones to the main room(had bugs in the main room, is the reason for moving), so now im back in the main room and cracking is happening still on bigger mushrooms.is blotch spreadable or more caused by conditions, at 15 degrees and lower didnt seem to run into these problems, cant wait for winter, Ill try to post some new pics

Re-posting your images.

They look like....... Well they are fat. The brown is maybe contamination? I also see what looks like a moldy bag at the back.
Remove from the room if it is.

Yes! That will happen with blotch in higher temps, the main way of fighting blotch is less water and cooler temps. I ran into it when I first started Eryngii, it's my main crop so I spent a lot of time dialing it in, for me the blotch and funkiness stopped when I stopped misting and brought RH down to 80-85, also my temps were closer to 68-70 at the time I had the problem, I brought down my temps to 58-62 and the problem stopped. Eryngii is really susceptible to blotch and other bacterial problems, but I think your problem is caused by the temps with the cracking, I have seen that on mine when it gets to dry and hot at the same time, usually on a second flush though.

thanks marty, temps were hitting 65 last night and then started to see the cracking, seeing the cracking is making me think dry so turn up the humidity, causing the blotch, the only way i see to fix the temp is to stick the ac in the room, I have it in another room in the window right now, then triing to blow cold air from that room in, but it doesnt seem to be working, its in buried basement so im going to have put ac in the room in one of the doors and vent the heat from the room getting the hot end i guess. do you have any problems with the ac in the humidity?

or i could just get floor model with a vent pipe and make life easy for a change, was scared ac in high humidity might ice up, which is why i was triing blow cold air in from other room, but if ac works in the grow room with no issues why not eh. that is ok to do?(ac in higher humidity)

With the AC, I have mine set up in a window in my shop where my grow room is, I have part of the AC blowing into the grow room through ducting and the rest of the AC cools the space around the grow room, the ac unit itself doesnt touch the humidity, the grow room air and humidity is directly exhausted outside the building. I also have a temperature controller hooked up to the AC unit with a connected probe inside the grow room to keep it whatever temp I need. This is the best way I have figured it out for my setup, but there are a million ways to skin this cat Im sure.

so i have the right idea then, And the device you attached to yur ac is a coolbot, or is there something else cheaper lol. I will try to get some better ducting attached to ac, had 4 inch lieing around, but 6 inch with a proper duct attachment would probably help alot Thanks i really appriciate the help

couldnt i just plug ac into thermostat switch (like a grozone one) cause i just happen to have one of them sitting here. then suck all the cold air from ac into the grow room and thermostat would turn it off when grow room was cool enough, got most of the stuff, seems like a cheap fix

they are cracking and browning because they are too dry, growing too fast because of the heat, or fresh air.

So the blotch seems pretty serious, thinking about growing shiitakes, i just through out over a hundred pounds of kings and im broken, going to end up homeless on the street rambling about growing mushrooms lol Only problems i can see with shiitakes is space , im able to produce a 100 kilos of rye grain spawn and lipa tech 200 bags of pellets a week, with the time it takes to fruit them my basement is going to fill up fast,

So blotch sucks, is this stuff going to cause problems on shiitake?, after bleaching entire hous a few times, ill open some more bags, through everything outside and covered it with other stuff that went bad, its close to the house, didnt realize how bad this stuff was when i did it, wundering if running ozone everywhere once a week would be a possible solution?dropped humidity and opened bags that were pinning without cleaning place, surprise more blotch, the cleaning of the place is pretty depressing, tough throwing out months of work

Fuck dude, I hate to hear that! I don't know what to say, when I had the issue I dropped RH and misting and have never had cracking or browning. I would hate to hear that you have to give up eryngii due to this, but it's a sad story you read all the time. The only thing I can think of is trying another strain, I grow the K01 from Aloha, It has been great with the lower RH% and almost no misting which cured my blotch.

Im not out yet, feels like a kick in the nuts but, cant give up. I still had 200 unopened bags of kings, to play with, buried all the contamed stuff, bleach bombed the whole place got a new humidistast, keeping it at 82 rh and every hour dropping it to high 70s, was running humidity on a timer before but its king of a guessing game on timer, ac kicks on driies it out to much and issues like that, had couple bags that got opened early and so far so good, Im sure its fixable , definetly strain change could help, had a cube that would grow on fresh horse manure with no pasterization or anything when i was playing with that. Would love to find a small king, cause i have a decent market for them restaraunts, they seem hard to find, the one i have grows big with bran added
I believe i have to be able to fix the blotch if want to continue grow mushrooms
