Casing on Uncolonized Bulk Sub

It has been a while since I have grown anything, and as such I decided to be an idiot. While I was spawning rye to bulk compost I had a brain fart and put my casing layer on top of the mixture before it colonized.
It has only been since last night and the tray is inside of my tent with foil on top. This morning I woke up and starting thinking about it and realized the mistake I had made. I have no clue why I did this.
Anyways, what would you guys recommend here? Should I just leave it alone or should I remove the casing layer and add back? Problem is I don't have any more casing (ready to go anyways), but of course I can prepare more.

Do people not do this anyways with coir and verm? I thought that they mixed spawn with substrate and put a thin layer of substrate on top as a "protectant" to minimise risk of contamination ??? I would like to know this also so I will be watching this.

lol youll be fine, it should just colonize that layer early. you can always make a little more sub and case it when its ready. maybe a little less casing if your holes are too low on the tub tho...

Whew that makes me feel better lol. I have just always done it late, and freaked out because I didn't do it the way that has worked for me before. It makes sense as to why it should be fine and potentially beneficial.
I can't wait to see what happens with this grow. I am running a tent with a visible cool mist and t5s. I wanted to get away from monotubs for a bit and compare the results.

these where cased (1/4inch 80/20 coir/verm) & fruited at spawning, two weeks & a few days later is harvest. total neglect!
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night
