Safely use psychedelics w/ family history of mental illness

Hi!
I feel there are many threads out there on wether or not to do psychedelics when you've got family history/your own history of mental illness. The answer almost always being "maybe". But i'd like to know more around low doses.
My question is how to use psychedelics safely. Can i get more permanently damaged than i get high? Like walking into shallow water and getting dragged into the ocean? Or am i safe as long as i only do very low doses once in a while? What kinds of psychedelics would you recommend?
More in-depth personal experiences + family history of mental illness: I've tried low doses of shrooms, LSD and MDMA before. I'm always on the verge to a bad trip when coming up, but after calming down i've only had good experiences (with little paranoia). Now, my family is the history of mental illness. There's bipolar ll (with psychosis), autism and borderline in my immediate family and have relatives with schizophrenia, ADHD, psychosis, and depression. I'm much more stable than my immediate family and my doctors conclusions are that i do have symptoms of some of these things, but not enough to measure up to a diagnosis. Sometimes mild depression with feelings of derealisation but i don't take anything other than alcohol at those times. After LSD i was more confused than usual/had a hard time reading/tired for 3 days. MDMA made me an empty post-drug ghost for a bit over 2 weeks/had energy crashes for months afterwards, so no stimulants for me. But it could just have been that i noticed energy crashes better after this experience. Have had 2 bad trips on cannabis, probably from having too much + the chaotic thinking.

Some people are not made to do these specific kind of drugs.
You may be one of them.

To put it bluntly - you won't know if they're for you until you try it. Even then, a lot of things play a factor. In my experience, if you just go with it I think psychedelics have the potential to be for everyone (doses varying of course, with many simply microdosing).
The real question is, do you have that desire and courage to try it? Does the curiosity outweigh the fear? If you're unsure then welcome to the magical world of psychedelics, where nothing is certain and you're not quite sure what you're looking for.
In all honesty, if taken in a peaceful setting, in a comfortable environment (the "environment" being your mind), and if you just go with it, I think you're in for one of the most beautiful experiences of your life. Even if it seems like it's about to go "bad", if I just go with it, it has always turned out to be extremely good way faster than I expected it to - a complete turnaround from sad to pure bliss.
And if you do have a bad trip, if it does turn out to be too much for you, then it will all be over by the next day. You're not going to die, you won't be hopelessly addicted, you just say "whoa, that's not for me." and then you make the conscious decision to not do them again.
But you shouldn't start out with a crazy dose anyways. Take like 2g of dried shrooms in a happy setting when no one will bother you and you'll be golden.
Best of luck to you and welcome to the Shroomery

The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary) Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful) Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

There are also herbs (I've heard things about frankincense and also myrrh being used) to help induce a soothing come-up as well.
As far as which psychs to take, I hear incredible things about microdosing LSD but I've never done it. I have microdosed and taken "heroic" doses of shrooms with nothing but success and benefit.

If you've already done them I would say you're fine. Most people that break on psychedelics were already going to develop schizophrenia but psychs were just that straw that broke the camels back.

Ive had a great time with weed 2 years and shrooms 3 times.
Ive had also gotten a depression and a mind-chattering state some time wich lead me into the void wher ei got really depressed.
When i have a strong mind again i will defonetely try dosing 2g shrooms and step by step inducing cannabis in my life because i love it to the point where i abused it and it kicked my ass.
I have learned to use drugs safely and that we are all playing with fire
Positive mind is the clue of succes

I think psychedelics can train people to enter states of derealization or depersonalization, and if they are prone to entering those states then it becomes habit. Wait if you are in your early 20s, meditation will take you just as deep if you still want to explore and are willing to make an effort.

thats it i guess.
But if you already have passed depersonalisation wich means also to me in a way finding to yourself you can do them do find yourself better and if you are experienced to it your are less prone that another episode of that would happen??
