1st time contam, Trich on casing - probable causes & solutions? (PIC)

I'm really bummed. This was my first casing using my own pasteurized substrate, which was bascially 50/50 coir/verm, but I threw in about 10% worm castings. I'm most suspicious that I may not have fully pasteurized the mix, but I was trying hard to avoid sterilizing it.
I've got a couple of questions (and I've already read several posts, but wanted some specifics re: my setup)
1)I know I had really good clean rye grain- no contams, so if there's a chance that my substrate was clean too, but some trich got in on top and that's where it's mostly at- can I cut out, and then hope the mycelium takes over and kills the rest?
2)If it is in fact my crappy pasteurization, I made several extra bags that are waiting for 2 brand new 1/2 gallon jars, and I definitely don't want to waste these beauties, particularly because I lost another 2 big ones to bacteria this week. So my question is, can I re-pasteurize the substrate bags, or will that kill too many nutrients doing a second run?
Here's a picture of my setup, feel free to comment on that lid setup too, it's saran wrap with a slit covered by micropore tape then lid:

If your spawn was 100% clean it stands to presume it was your substrate. I wouldn't bother with worm castings or pasteurising. Try this, this is what I will be doing and a lot of people have had a lot of success with: Damion50/50's coir https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11916595

That's what I was going to start with, and then I decided to get all fancy and throw some kind of poo in there.
This is only my 2nd grow, and the first one had a few good results, but the fruits were all really small compared to what I see others getting out there.
I used a syringe I got online, so I'm guessing it's the whole multi-spore thing that's limiting me vs. what people get from clones and isolates, just judging from what I've read.
I guess I'll toss my worm poo stuff and do Damion's. Then I plan to take the first aggressive grower I find and try to clone it to some kind of LC and keep that going in as a master culture if I can figure all that out.
If anyone's got a favorite tek for this, I'll take the recommendations. I'm not lazy, and have all the tools now, but just want a straightforward process that doesn't eat up all my time.

If just recently started agar work. Going well so far... Straight from MS syringe and I will further transfer another 2 times. It seems in this craft it's essential to great, consistent yields.

yeah, I've got 4 sterile agar trays here. I was going to clone a biggie in there, then transfer fastest / most rhizomorphic sectors to the other 3, then hopefully take a wedge into some liquid master culture.
Good luck to both of us with the agar!

Hey man it happens to everyone at some point! It's all one big science experiment anyways. I've been dabbling around in mycology for almost 10 years..it took me that long to finally make an account here lol. Just stick with it and learn from the failures. There is so much to read and learn on here. The search button has given me solutions and ideas for a decade! Get rid of that greenie asap outside and see if you can get any fruits out there. Waste nothing! At the least you are giving the earth something to munch on.

Yeah, I know.. I just got off to such a great start, and then jumped into the PC and rye etc. and was all geared up for super-fruits when the mean-greenie got me.
I'm still a total noob, but I'm loving the learning. I've been a Morel hunter for years now, and had tons of dumb luck with that too!
That's really my ultimate goal here.. to find a way to consistently cultivate the elusive morel indoors.

It's that time of year too. Summer months up the trich rate a lot indoors imo, there's so many things floating around us that we can't see. Try to keep every step as clean and non exposed as you can. Just don't over think it and you get the groove!

Yeah, you know.. my fruiting environment is awful. Dusty garage with poorly filtered ventilation and surrounded by musty forest with lots of decay.
I'd love to clean the area and run some hepa filters in there.. got any suggestions or links to teks for an area cleanup?
I'm also using the 'oven tek' for my G2G and syringe inoculation, and that seems to be going fine at the beginning.. just a couple contam jars so far that I never spawned.
But I want to clone a monster into agar, then isolate a good rhizome section into a master LC, and I wonder if I can pull all that off in front of the damn oven.
Any experience there?

I spray Lysol daily in my grow room. The generic brand works just as good and it's half the price.
If you're fruiting in a garage though I'd think this is to be somewhat expected.

Just make a still air box (SAB) out of a tote. There are many teks on here for one. Also, dust, vacuum, and wipe down your grow area. A HEPA won't do anything but waste money if the surroundings aren't clean indoors.

Yeah, I made a really nice SAB and ended up using it as a chamber with a heating pad when it was still cold , when I first got started. Actually, that's what that damn bin is sitting inside now!!
I was just doing some Googling, and found this article. Really cool learning about Trich.. Looks like a good guy to read. Read the paragraph under the first cross-line

Yep you need to get that out asap and only open it outdoors. If its already green then it's producing airborne spores at that stage.
