Cooking food you think will taste good but it doesn't...
    #23382537 - 06/25/16 11:16 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

I'm sure most of you here have done that... You're hungry as hell and you make something you think is going to be fucking tasty but when you finally sit down and start eating it you realize it's not that good. What's a concoction you cooked up lately that you thought was going to be fucking good but when you started digging in it wasn't as good as you thought it'd be.

Me, I came home from work late and made a grilled cheese sandwich consisting of sharp cheddar, muenster, swiss, chips, and two slices of ham on rye bread. I thought it was going to be bomb as FUCK but it was just okay. :frown:

Maybe it would've been better if I was stoned. Nothing in particular, I just thought it was going to be mouth watering good. Like seriously... when I was cooking this shit up I was as excited as a fat boy at Golden Corral. It turned out to be just okay. I'm still hungry but it's too late to keep eating.

I thought this was going to have some kind of dish that was more complicated, I don't know why I was surprised given the OP.
It's really hard to fuck up a grilled cheese, dude.

ANSWER THE OP MUTHA FUCKA!

Let me clarify, the grilled cheese came out perfectly. Just like how any grilled cheese should when made properly. Not burnt whatsoever, golden crispy bread, cheese fully melted and hot. It just didn't really hit the spot. Know what I mean Vern? Maybe a shredded beef quesadilla or some chicken wings would've, OR maybe even a kebab. Idk though...

There was no question in the OP. "Vern"? Some diced veggies or fungus of your preference might go well with it next time, along with some hot sauce.

Yeah, pouring hot sauce over everything almost always fixes the taste issue. The other week my wife made this mushroom stroganoff, man it was disgusting... I've got no idea how she so awesomely fucked that up. Seems she put in 10 times the recommended garlic or something. Hot sauce couldn't even fix it.
One time I put mixed spice all over roast veggies. That as a monumental cock up as well, tasted like the crust of an apple pie but was carrot, onion, potato, whatever inside... The dessert vegetables gag was running for some years after that.

Can't tell if first sentence is sarcasm or not. I like hot sauce, but not all types or flavors. chipotle flavor seems to mesh well with a lot.

I was being serious

I looove hot chilli. Make my own sauces from chillies I grow, eat the stuff every day. I guess I don't don't put it on cereal, other than that it goes with everything.

Damn dude, I make the dopest pasta and every time it's like an orgasm in my mouth.
Try going light on salt and other spices (marinara too); it's easy to go overboard, and then it's hard to even eat enough to get full.
Add a splash of whipping cream to your marinara, it will make it super rich and tasty.
