Mycellium- Heat vs Cold.
    #23381619 - 06/25/16 05:57 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

As long it has a lot of FAE and moisture, my mycellium runs rampant when it is colonizing in warm/ hot temps.

In cold weather it is very slow and sluggish.  Also, We store them in cooler temps to slow its growth, as a preservation method.

So my questions, is warmer temps better for quicker mycellium growth, provided it has good FAE and moisture?

It does benefit mycelial growth. However, higher temps also benefit a lot of growths, be them bacterial or otherwise. Just some food for thought.

Ive always thought about it like this..mycelium enjoys a slight temperature fluctuation during its development. Even drastic changes can sometimes help at various stages during colonization and fruiting. Replicating nature is almost impossible but we can get rather close!

But too answer your question higher temps are okay, but when you are simulating a controlled environment it's best to stay on the lower spectrum of temps for mycelium growth. Slow and steady like giving it good to your lady.
