Hello all, It has been about two years since my last attempt at mushroom cultivation. In the past I tried pf tek with very little success. I believe I made four attempt at the time, with 80-90% failure. I finally gave up, thinking I just didn't have what it takes. However recently my interest has re emerged. So I bought a all americal pc off ebay, ordered a new peacock or what ever they call those things, as well a a new gauge. I did a couple hour long test run, and am quit happy with it. So a Thursday night I pc'd 8 1/2 pints @ 18-20 psi for 1 hour, and let cool until Saturday. Another thing I did was build a glove box from a 106 qt clear tub. This morning I throughtly cleaned the room I was working in. cleaned out the G.B. gave everything a bout an hour rest time, placed the pf jars and supplys in the box, then cleaned the box one more time, misted with oust and let rest another 15 mins before preceding. I flamed my needle, wiped with alc. Also wiped each jar at inoculation point before and after injection. it all went pretty well, or so I hope. At one point it seemed like the needle may have had something jammed inside, giving a little more pressure the l.c. shot out, much more than I would have liked. So I may have one jar with too little and one with way too much liquid culture. I did mark these two questionable jars. Also each jar is labeled with culture type and date. I am hoping I have better success this time around.

Good luck and keep us posted! PF jars are known to clog syringe needles with vermiculite and brf, especially if you used a fine grade verm and fine brf. No worries though you've done the hard part.. Just sit back and relax while nature unfolds.

nice! good luck buddy!
i wanted to add one thing though about nocing the jars. personally i dont believe alcohol is actually sterile like some people believe. as such i dont think its BEST to wipe the needle with alcohol before putting it in the jars. its better to use denatured alcohol as a medium for the flame, and simply squirt a little solution out to cool the needle. then inoculate with no fear (:
