How long can pasteurized poo sit in open air before use?

After tackling a large grow I have found myself in a situation I don't know the answer to. Here's a quick rundown,
1. 2 days ago I pasteurized a large amount of horse manure.
2. It has been sitting in the tub since I pasteurized it (not in any sort of sealed bag.
3. Yesterday I spawned half of my rye jars to mini tubs filled with a mix of the poo 50/50 with pasteurized coir
4. Today the two tubs of substrate still sit there in the room and I wonder if I can continue to use it and if so for how long.
5. My question is how long of a colonization period does the pasteurization process give you and has too much of that window passed to spawn more jars to the manure/ coir?

I don't think I would use it after that long imo. Especially if you've already used some or even opened the lid for that matter. Manure is like a magnet for contams. If it was a different sub like verm or coir I wouldn't worry as much, because those have a lower nutritional value or contam rate. Plus those totes can't be sealed 100%.

err, i said it yesterday a few times. but when i leave stuff like that around for 4 days it grows legit mold. so you can definitely bet the contams are building well before that. you want to use it ASAP or put it in a freezer temporarily to keep it from building contam(i think this should work in theory).

2 days should be fine but you should try and pastuerize it only when you need it next time.

My thought was that even though I've already spawned my tubs that there will be much of the substrate in those tubs that won't be colonized for many days to come and if that won't be contamed by the time the mycelium grows through it that there is definitely a window of opportunity to work within and that there can still be a chance for mycelium spawned today will still have enough of a head start to colonize before contamination.

mold after 4 days sounds like improper pasteurization,or maybe partial sterilization. you're supposed to get closer to 2 weeks window.

I guess my point was even though it's pasteurized.. It's been used already or handled in some form. Plus it's sitting on a floor so when you opened it and scooped manure then contams are floating everywhere. Also you left a bowl in one of the tubs? I dunno though. Like spacechildo said, make only what you intend to use immediately. That and cut down as many steps as possible for exposing it before you spawn with it. Cleaner and smarter is always better!

properly pasteurized manure can fend for itself, just picture all the dirty mold spores you mix in during spawning. spores dont wanna germinate on CVG so that doesnt even need pasteurization. no thermophilliacs to save either.

True! I've always treated my pasteurized subs just like I do grain prep and inoculations. I probably over think my steps too often but I like to keep procedures clean as possible. That way I'm not scratching my head weeks later wondering why something contamed. Lol

So the idea is that if all was done well, your mycelium has about two weeks to fully colonize the substrate? Using proper spawn ratios and spawning early obviously enhances success rates but I think I have faith in my mycelium. It can dominate that sub before anything else has a chance. I've got a 7 pound bag of the poo re-pasteurizing right now so I can see if it will help compared to some tubs I'm about to make
