playfulness and spirituality
    #23377269 - 06/24/16 12:05 PM (7 years, 8 months ago)

just a short topic .. a lot of the things about spirituality are very good and important, but i would say that playfulness almost goes beyond any one single other aspect. . . perhaps with the exception of truth - buddha put such a large emphasis on truth, i've really noticed it to be as well, except playfulness almost gets up there. . .

'coz if one is playful, carefree. .  i mean, truthfully just entering into that can be / do much more for karma than austerity. . .
etc

oh, and am reminded of - yay haha,, the principia discordia, as i suddenly remembered - not only the brilliant categories of creative order / creative disorder / destructive order / destructive disorder ,

well, it's good, but anyway, the other thing was mainly about playfulness, too..

 :earth: :1up: :sun:

Hi  actually one thing i wrote down the other night, id taken mescaline and spent a good 4-5 hours of it in mediatation and letting my mind travel with closed eyes, one thing i learned or felt and wrote on my paper lol - was that its okay to have fun as well with them and enjoy it. And that laughter and dance is good for the soul.

I dunno, but thats how i felt and what i wrote  haha.

Yes, psychedelics learn you how to remember playfullness which was sucked out of you by the shtty schools and whatnot
They have me anyhow. Playfulness=spirituality It is a sense of bubbling joy, and also freedom, and sense of humour, and exploration. A sense of opening up and feeling how nature is also playful
Yes I know there are real dangers too, but the real miserable people, and unplayful people in this world try and push fear of the dangers of life to make you feel paranoid and closed up

I totally agree with this, I often get told I come off as "super psychedelic shaman" because I am always rambling on about how important psychs are for growth, I am like that on this site, and in the regular world.  But I think that laughter and dance is beneficial for the soul, and can be sacred if that makes sense.

Sacred to me doesn't always mean weeping on the alter in a quivering state of ego loss

But yeah, I like what you said.

One of the things I enjoy the most about a good trip, is just being open, open to laugh, open to cry, open to do what comes to you then, and do it without fear.

Yeah i mean there is of course a more serious side for introspection, personal and spiritual growth, but i think i was focusing too long on that side maybe, when i got the 'message' about having fun and the like as well  i could see people together dancing and laughing and they seemed so free and light hearted.

Was a long evening, it brought me to tears once when looking at, hmm how to say, personal introspection and learning some truths about myself, and brought me to laughter at times too, quite a meaningful evening i had. As well as playing laser with the cats hahaha

To me, reaching that free, open space is the result of shedding the layers of my ego, and reaching ME, that innocent, playful, open, free child. Here anything s possible.

No preconceptions, no fear, just play and wonder. It's hard to stay like this, but I strive to as much as possible, and use meditation  to remain/return here.

To quote Be Here Now, "Except ye be converted and become as little children ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. Unless you start again, become that trusting, open, surrendered being, the energy can't come in. That is the kingdom of heaven. The energy it is the same thing cosmic consciousness."

Regarding playfulness, there's an idea that much of our misery is due to taking things much too seriously.

i think it is more separating seriousness from playfulness. One powerful trip I had involved me tripping on shrooms and then finding myself watching a TV documentary on TV about the Israeli and Palestinian troubles. I was giggling a lot and any observer of me would have thought I was being superficial but I was BOTH feeling ecstatically playful AND seeing deep into what I was watching. I saw that a lot of our troubles is folly. Clinging to our separate beliefs which separate us. of course it is more c9omplex, and this comes in integration. IE that the occupation OF 'Israel' has caused so much terrible conflict, and this was deliberately manged by the agreement to give them that land, etc etc
But I saw that IF people caught up in this shit and other conflicts would take shrooms together in an openminded way, then the playfulness inspired would help them see through a lot of BS which has been drilled into them since being little. And they would see it is Nature which is the life-giving connective principle throughout all species

The other day a young guy, who was a Muslim, knocked on my door doing charity work. he said he had lived in Paris, but was here to study at uni. I asked him if he had been to the Lake District which is very beautiful and has many magic mushrooms in their season. he said he'd camped there, and I asked him if he had ever taken magic mushrooms and he said that Muslims aren't allowed to take 'drugs'. So I asked him if he drank coffee, and lifed sugar and he said he did and i said 'ahaaa, those are drugs!' lol

this conversation inspired me to later Google 'ex Muslims and psychedelics'

everyones truth is right, however, spirituality is learning to be observant of those who play, and not becoming part of the show. We would not play games if we were to be alone on earth- we do this because of our dependence of other people, spirituality has been misconstrued into "happiness" when it is about acceptance and pardoning from the 7 sins into the God mind where the only true peace and freedom exist.

All the times I've seen people come to some sort of spiritual realization, they just laugh and laugh.
:awesomenod: We take this game too seriously.

That is because realizing that we are God can result in mass manifestation of the ego and breed a prideful exterior. Laughing is a mockery of a less superior idea or person. most often, an awakening is reached through drugs and is associated with love and happiness and passiom, but it is short lived and it is a grand illusion. with God, there is no sense of humor, only sincerity. Once one reaches awakening it is usually accepted as the peak, and it is not. there is no truth in music, and listening to music lowers our frequency and provides a false sense of passion. the truth often pulls us further into the ego game and we become more reliant of others. This is why God is often referred to as "the desire for human connection", and this is false, God is the staye of mind that is achieved only through self reliance, as an ego is the only barrier and can only manifest itself through other people
