He's mocking liberals from beyond the outer realms now!
-------------------- "I have no way of knowing whether you, who eventually will read this record, like stories or not. If you do not, no doubt you have turned these pages without attention. I confess that I love them. Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

The thread that turned me from a lurker to a member was one about the police. I had my stance and he had his. We went round and round. I grew to really enjoy his wit, especially after I saw his image in the pics of pubbers thread. RIP old man.

I didn't have many interactions with him but this one really stuck out. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22904970#22904970
its comforting but what a depressing coincidence.
Makes me think the old dog had cancer and had too much pride to admit it around here. Least a single soul try and pity him. He gots his wish anyways. Rest easy broseph.

Let's turn this thread into something funny. I highly doubt the man would want to see 200 posts about how sad and shitty it is that he died.
Let's honor his memory and turn this thing into a satirical political thread of some kind. God knows he was into these. Here's one that will make him proud!
Quote:
Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is Zappa, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota. All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900. $400 for materials, $400 for my crew, and $100 profit for me." The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700. $300 for materials, $300 for my crew, and $100 profit for me." Zappa doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700." The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?" Zappa whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence." "Done!" replies the government official. And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.
To Zap!
The next time the government shuts down I'll be thinking of you you cranky bastard!
I actually teared up writing this

Just awful, didn't see this coming at all.
Wishing now that I would've gotten to know him a little instead of just giving him a hard time.
Too damn bad, definitely gonna miss him and seeing that avatar around.

I just finished listening to one of ZIG's favorite albums which made me remember this thread, some of you may enjoy listening to it in his honor.
It is fitting too:
Nektar: Remember The Future
I didn't have a whole lot in common with him but he had great taste in music and I enjoyed chatting with him occasionally about classic bands.
One time we both were listening to Remember The Future at almost the same spot and were taking turns posting all the lyrics from the whole album
Anyways just wanted yo share that even though it's a bit random
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Sorry I didn't name my baby after you zig... Even though it was a really awful ongoing joke he'll always be Kevin in my heart because of that.
Zig really helped me through some tough times, I can honestly say I may not be here today if it wasn't for his kind words.
Damn zig, why did you have to leave?

Zappa and I had many PMs about his daughter as she went through law school and eventually became a lawyer. He was so proud of her.
I'll miss him. I'm going to have to go ultra conservative just to restore the balance in the fora.

That's the trend on my wall post to him that ended up being where the news was broke. Everyone is telling her how proud he was of her and all that. It's very sweet... And sad.

I found this pic of him while searching google for an obit. It was part of an article that NBC published five years ago about storms and power outages in his area. I like it.
