But your suggesting people should be arrested for thought crimes. Thats a dangerous precedent to set man.

The guy threatened to kill his coworkers praising ISIS, how the fuck do you NOT want to arrest this guy???

Even if the arrested him for uttering threats, he goes to jail for a few months and then he's out again. What then? You think him being a felons gonna make it difficult for him to get a gun? You cant stop this shit from happening by force. If someone wants to go rouge and kill a ton of people theres literally nothing stopping them from doing so.

So if felons can still get guns, what do you suggest?

Not everyone lives in some leave it to beaver ideal suburban neighborhood. There are probably members of the shroomery who have heard gun shots go off in their neighborhood just tonight. I've heard gun shots and even full on shoot outs in broad daylight in some of the places I've lived.

The last place I lived, right before moving in, there was a guy who was shot in the back and stabbed a few times right up the road from the house I was moving into. The dude ran away and collapsed right across the street by a fire hydrant (no cars parked there) and bled out.

Sad story, but even sadder when his family put a memorial up on the hydrant. But what are hydrants for most of the time? For dogs to pee on. For eternity, dogs will piss on his grave. Cold shit bruh...

Anyway this all happened in a town I was moving to, in order to get away from the crime of this city, http://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Vallejo-California.html

Fuck crackheads. I don't owe them or anyone else a fair fight when they break into my house in the dead of night. They catch me off guard with the element of surprise, with their eyes adjusted for darkness and me coming straight outta REM sleep. Him all jacked up on dat meff, me all wiped out from fucking my lady. Just because it hasn't happened to you, doesn't mean it hasn't happened to anyone else.

I've had my place broken into twice, within five years, in two different counties.... If you don't want a gun don't get one.

But I do think if you're on the terrorist watch list, and you buy a gun, there should at least be a bunch of red flags being sent to the fbi and local police and everyone who needs to know. Maybe even the store owner should be notified before selling the gun.

We can't take someone's rights away because they were put on some secret list with no due process. That's immoral. But we can put you on a list and then watch you, right? That's not giving up any rights? That seems like a compromise everyone can agree on right?

But for this to work they need to actually put people that were a danger in the list and actually watch them. Last I heard, they just throw thousands of names on the list based on nonsense. Which is why we always come to find out, most of these terrorists are on the fbi's list.

restrict people by putting them on a list that has no criteria, that's a great idea.

while we are at it lets ban all metal lathes and mills, and 3d printers.  anyone with some basic knowledge could produce both arms and munitions.

people just look at Mexico.  that is what the USA would turn into when the criminals realize that the populace is unarmed.  and being limited to single shot rifles and single action revolvers is the same as being unarmed

it don't cost a dime for one criminal to sell a gun to another criminal.  they need not even know each others name

Why have a gun? So you can kill, injure, incapacitate or permanently disable (potentially many) people with ease. That's what they're for.

Why have a hammer? So you can bang nails.

Why have a saw? So you can cut wood.

What sort of a question is "Why have a gun?" A gun is an instrument of death.

Exactly, and I sleep with one beside me because I've pissed off more people than I can count.
