Would help if you gave us a location...

In any case, they don't look active to me. Wait for others to confirm this though.

LOCATION
South East England, found in abundace in a large ope sports playing field (kinda more like a golf course), cut grassland in a location very near ancient woodland populated with oak trees growing in a deep wet clay type soil. In the past we've noticed many "fairy rings" in the grass in this field. Found these after a day heavy rain and very humid conditions.

Hope this helps, Many thanks in advance, Argy

Alright, I guess they do look a little bit like Psilocybe semilanceata. I don't think they are though.

A spore print would help

Hey Argy, sorry but I don't think they are magic, they look like ones we have here in Victoria, Australia, they're very similar in appearance to magic mushies but aren't, not sure what they are but no blue means no magic (here anyway). Please be careful.

For an untrained eye, from a distance, maybe. But not really a look alike.

It will most likely be dark brown. These are Panaeolina foenisecii.

Here's my attempt at a spore print. Colour is very dark brown, almost black. Not sure if it helps. Thanks for all your advice. Last question, can any one advise if they think it's toxic?
Argy

Although faint and feeble, spores are obviously dark brown.

To get a fatter print, you should leave them 6-12 hours at least.

Ok,
I've selected about 20 different sized heads for a 12 hour spore print (laid on white paper under a 1/2 pint glass on a shady window ledge - unless you can suggest a better method).

I'd appreciate your having another look when I post the updated print. Again much thanks for your advice.
