People who say 'brah'

Like where did that originate? Am I the only one who finds this world oddly ineffectual?

Think it started in Hawaii, but our form of brah sounds a lot different than the typical mainland/California "brah". They kind of whitewashed it.

Man, have you heard the accent of some of the youth of London these days? Jafaken is what they call it I believe.

'blud' is just our version of 'brah'

For some reason, I find it just grates on my grey matter...

Fer sher brah

Around here it's associated with the surfer bro stereotype. I find it's mainly used by popular young men belonging to fraternities. They like to pretend like they surf, but actually they're always from some other state and only moved here like a year ago with their rich family.

Also, I've never heard an actual surfer talk this way (unless they were mocking someone).

it probably originated out of the realization that people such as yourself would care about it so much as to create a topic on this forum solely devoted to the word and the people that say it.  i mean honestly, what's the big difference between bro, bruh, and brah?  and more importantly, who really cares?  it's like the whole to may toe, to mah toe thing... at the end of the day it's describing the same object anyway.  is pronunciation really that important when you know what the person means by it anyway?  all i'm saying is some people probably say it just to annoy people like you.  that's all i'm saying

OP:  i only use that phrase when making fun of a few acquaintances or co-workers who are all bro'ed-out.  worst of all, around here, there is a whole separate of order of "brah" that we refer to as "grow-bros" that drive like complete assholes in their over-sized, super-lifted trucks, most often loaded down with pallets of soil or other grow materials.  they are the worst kind of brah/bro in all of time.

I didn't realise that was a thing. I'm going to stringently maintain the utmost ecological ethics with regards to growing food, but be insanely macho and aggressive about it. I'M A GROW BRO. I found my calling.

True, but I say it because I believe we are all intrinsically linked. Spiritually. I believe every human is a part of me and I a part of every other.

I use it to symbolise the belief that every human alive is my brother or sister in some indescribable, esoteric way.

Somehow, I don't think that people that say 'brah', 'bruv' or 'blud' have the same intention in mind.

He is right though.

If he is then so am I.

Chances are, we're both partially right and partially wrong.

no one said you were right or wrong.  i think the point was that YOU made a thread bitching about people who say brah, then got on your high-horse about saying "brother" for your own reason.  yet you failed to see that people who say "brah" say it for their own reason, which is likely similar to the reason you say "brother"

/end thread

OK.

--------------------
Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

I didn't realise that was a thing. I'm going to stringently maintain the utmost ecological ethics with regards to growing food, but be insanely macho and aggressive about it. I'M A GROW BRO. I found my calling.

real farmers build soil, they don't buy it

Oh yeah, I'm not going to do the practical side of things in a stupid way or anything, I'm just gonna stand next to my self-produced worm castings and composting system looking really tough and macho and maybe firing a machine gun into the air.

To avoid any further misconception of the difference between 'curiosity' and 'bitching'.
