People who say 'brah'
    #23374869 - 06/23/16 07:07 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Like where did that originate? Am I the only one who finds this world oddly ineffectual?

Think it started in Hawaii, but our form of brah sounds a lot different than the typical mainland/California "brah". They kind of whitewashed it.

I believe they self-identify as eel fuckfaces. Do you know English people who do this and aren't taking the piss?

Man, have you heard the accent of some of the youth of London these days? Jafaken is what they call it I believe.

'blud' is just our version of 'brah'

For some reason, I find it just grates on my grey matter...

DYESA?

No I most certainly don't. I've a thick north London accent with a tinge of Australian in it.

Fer sher brah

Around here it's associated with the surfer bro stereotype. I find it's mainly used by popular young men belonging to fraternities. They like to pretend like they surf, but actually they're always from some other state and only moved here like a year ago with their rich family.

Also, I've never heard an actual surfer talk this way (unless they were mocking someone).

London slang is terrible beyond belief. Remember when stuff used to be NANG?

it probably originated out of the realization that people such as yourself would care about it so much as to create a topic on this forum solely devoted to the word and the people that say it.  i mean honestly, what's the big difference between bro, bruh, and brah?  and more importantly, who really cares?  it's like the whole to may toe, to mah toe thing... at the end of the day it's describing the same object anyway.  is pronunciation really that important when you know what the person means by it anyway?  all i'm saying is some people probably say it just to annoy people like you.  that's all i'm saying
