Do you think having a Positive Mindset can make or break you when faced with serious medical issues?

I've seen it happen a lot, particularly with cancer patients who happened to be friends and friends of friends of mine.
My buddy passed away long ago, he had brain cancer and beat that, then lost his ability to walk a year later and gave up, died a week later. He was kind of doomed with his diagnosis of Neurofibromatosis though.
Another person I knew came down with leukemia and was able to put it in remission, he's had a positive outlook for it.
So, do you think thinking positively can affect your actual condition directly? I think it can, maybe leading to lower levels of stress hormones like cytosol and things of that nature, but then again all of it's kind of a predisposition thing anyway, some people just naturally think more positively than others... genetics plays a huuge part when it comes to this

I think it absolutely can make a huge difference.
If your brain thinks it's getting better then it makes the good healing stuff flow more I think.
If you think that your just going to die im guessing the good healing stuff stops flowing as much.
I'm using "good healing stuff" for lack of a better term hahaha

Of course it can. It's practically been proven the other way (i.e. stress/negative mindset causes serious health issues), so why would it not work this way too.
There's more to this life than meets the eye.
-------------------- Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe

The inflammation and immune systems are affected here i think, depression is likely a systemic disease and tied closely to inflammation and certain genes like the CACNB2 gene which is tied to other things like problems in the default mode network schizophrenia, autism, and a host of other things. Even genes are subject to change in their expression though, the body is a really crazy and marvelous thing.
