"Anime" was a lot cooler when it was called "Japanimation". Now it's all pedophilic stories about schoolgirls that have cat body parts and shit like that.

Oh, it's not that bad. You just have to wade through all that in order to find some real stuff. It's there for sure, almost every season has at least one good title.
Edit: although my graemlin was taken from exactly one of those teen-girl-with-nekomimi series.

When I was your age, we had Japanimation and we were happy for it. We had stories about cat robots from outer space, not cat pedos from Tokyo. You damn kids don't appreciate anything! Get off my lawn, you hippies!!!

Ok, ... I was thinking, .. I'm not that young you know, been watching anime since ~1980. Such a pity I can't remember the names of those shows early shows. I'd love to see some of them again.

I was really young, so I only watched what my brother did. Voltron, Transformers, Bubblegum Crisis... I got more into it with Ghost in the Shell.

Sounds about right. The late 90s are kind of a blur for me, admittedly.

The last anime I watched about schoolgirls was actually really deep and trippy

Lain is also almost two decades old as a series now. Still not the Japanimation days, but also not really in with the modern crowd.

Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Kenshin/Samurai X post-Evangelion 90s was kind of fun.

Fair point, Bebop and Trigun are easily two of my favorites from my childhood. Vash is my hero "Love and Peaceee, Love and Peaceeeee"

Vash was such a clown but I loved him , trigun was what introduced me to anime when it came on adult swim at night (well technically DBZ, but trigun got me to start branching out), surprisingly never watched bebop for some reason even though I've heard it's great.

He is definitely one of the best lovable clowns he's got that blend of badass joker and martyr that makes for a great protagonist.
I love how dark Trigun gets for having such a lighthearted exterior, also the sci fi elements are pretty damn far out especially for its time.
The scene where Wolfwood dies always hits me pretty hard
Watch Cowboy Bebop man, it is definitely a classic. Amazing soundtrack animation and storytelling, just all around great. The movie is good too.

I think bebop is one of the best of all time. Hakusho is my favorite though, the nostalgia glasses kill it for me. I think it's time for a rewatch.
Just finished naruto shippuden, I thought the series was already done but know I have to wait

The shippuden game beat the show to the end fillers make up almost half of that show or else it would already be done, it's borderline ridiculous at this point. I loved hakusho, have the full dvd set laying around somewhere, definitely gonna have to give bebop a try too
