It was kind of a dick move honestly, no offence. He was asking for suggestions, much like you are now only to get his idea stolen from under his nose. I wouldn't blame him if he had hard feelings about it.

Really? I take no offence, I just find it surprising.
Not much different from the link lists many TC's have I just used the same name, in my eyes. Perhaps I've over simplifying

Well, it was basically a copy and paste of his tek, down to the begginer, intermediete and expert sections, the name, and even the way it's composed.
Personally, I would have just helped him make it and if I like the end result, I would put it in my sig anyways. The difference is it would link to his tek and it would say something like "The ultimate bla bla bla, by *insert username here*". You would essentialy still be helping newbs, giving him credit and without coming across as plagiarist. Chances are, they will help you back in your future tries making both teks better due to a team effort.
What's done is done though, I think he scrapped it now so there is probably no way to fix it. Just something to keep in mind in case something like this happens again. You could probably make it up to him just a little bit by crediting him for the idea in the beggining of the tek, but this holds no promises of reconciliation obviously.
The only time I would have thought of that being "acceptable" is if the original author refused to add certain important stuff, giving you the opportunity to make one with your own different ideas, layout and phrasings.

Yeah I think I was originally intending to do way less work, just copy paste his skeleton (into his thread) and add some things in to hopefully get him jumpstarted and start a collaboration process. Then 48 hours later this beast had exploded out of me.
Wasn't getting much feedback from him so I went public due to impatience and by then I had put so much work into it that it seemed to be very much my own work at that point. I use the word seemed because I forgot how much of his design I did copy, looking back now :whoops:
I definitely gave him special thanks in my write-up. Really hope to hear more from him about it. We did seem to have two different visions, I hope he finishes his since mine may be too far down its own path.

I was thinking something in the beggining of the thread, preferably coloured, underlined and with a larger text, rather than a slight mention at the bottom of the pot

In the harvest you could mention about rinsing them off and drying the outsides prior to storing in paper bags in the fridge.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night
