Bizarre living conditions 1

I think there's approximately 2 million people in Hong Kong living in buildings like this:

It just seems like the most unnatural living conditions I've ever seen; I think I'd rather live in a slum or rough it in the woods than go home to a monstrosity like that every day.
What's the most bizarre living conditions you've seen or would be willing to put up with??

There was a slum... i think it was called Kowloon? where they stacked so many people on top of each other together, and it pretty much operated independently of the rest of the country... it was in hong kong. anyway, it not too long ago got shut down and demolished. The pics in the OP remind me of it. wait... is this modern kowloon? it had a population density of about 43,033 per km2 and had a total population of over 2 million residents.
people really weren't meant to live like this I don't think.

I always thought a favela looked bad, at least it's colorful.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care. It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence. I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too. If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

It's happening all over, the stack and pack. In the US the push is on to limit fossil fuel so the solution is to stack and pack and put work right there along with shopping. It's a UN agenda to get people in the cities look at China too they are full on stack and pack and kill the farmer or rural populations. It's progress, right? Living like rats in a stinking city with all the other stinking rats and cockroaches noise pollution emf frequencies, general commotion, ugly people doing ugly things, yuck.

There are plenty of slums in this country as well. As they say you ain't seen nothin' yet when the food stamps stop the food stampede begins. There are something like 45 million folks in the US on food stamps now which is a huge number and way up from a few years ago even. People are hurting, hell I'm struggling to sell a couple of houses, life is tough when you get low balled.

Perspective is everything:

The bowels of the ship where the workers live are more crowded than the first picture.

Exactly. That's his idea of trying to impress me with what, a stack and pack on the water? Plus, seriously, these cruise boat assholes just dump their SHIT right there in SF harbor for example because they can I guess. Could have pumped it to the waste water treatment plant but why bother.
Oh well he kills scorpions for fun, what does that tell you. What a big man, with his UV light. LOL.

combine this thread with the one about being paid to go to school - it makes me think of being a student and putting up with many less than ideal aspects of quality of life, yet all necessities available.
some of the images in this thread are fascinating too.
