just wandering about wood lovers

I've been thinking about this for a while now but I figured that this is possibly a stupid question and I really couldn't find any information to answer whether or not someone that lives in the mid south could possibly create the environment that wood lovers like psilocybe cyanescens, ps Alleni or maybe even Azurescens would be able to grow in? I know that the autumn around there aren't as cold and wet as they like but maybe they could be watered or misted up until the weather cools off enough to simulate their growing conditions. I've just fell in love with some of the psycadelic hunting threads and trips that Alan Rockefeller has posted about with pictures of their finds and I don't really have the ability to ride out there to Cali to experience some of these beautiful mushrooms. I was wandering if anyone has any experience in cultivating these in that general type of area?

And yes, I know for sure other people have done them, especially ps. cyans. I am trying subaeroginosa, cyans and alleni this year. I am sure the cyans will not fruit till next year but im cool with it and it will give the myc. a jump start. not sure about the alleni and subearo's. I was told that the heat is ok, long as the patch doesn't dry out. I actually think the cyans at least are more in donger of a hard freeze cuz I had a nice patch of azures and cyans in south jersey last year and the winter just killed the myc.

Do you get freezing temperatures in the winter?
I don't know how true this is but everyone I talk to seems to agree that 'the first frost' is a huge signal for the mycelium to start pinning.

I am in north florida now on the panhandle, so yes it will freeze for a month or 2 maybe and then only a few times at that. Last fall I picked amanitas to sell on ebay damn near through the whole winter. It does get cold enough here though to trigger pinning.
