Monotub and I'm so close please help!!!

Ok so I have a fully colonized monotub made from WBS spawn. Waited a week after full colonization and applied a 1/2 inch casing layer from what was leftover in my bucket (as per the bucket tek, 50 - 50 verm / coir). Sprayed it a few times because it dried a bit while the monotub was colonizing.
My problem: although my monotub colonized INCREDIBLY fast, the casing layer after 1 week is barely colonized at all. Just a few nickel-sized spots at most.
Some things I've read have said it may help to spray it (assuming dryness is the issue), but I was sort of under the impression that opening the monotub at this point at all was a bad idea and it is supposed to stay shut until I put the poly fill in the holes to allow for more FAE and induce fruiting conditions.
I'm so close to the end, someone please help!!!

hm, ive noticed my casing layer can take a while if i pack it down. now i only use a VERY lightly placed casing layer which colonizes well. but i personally introduce to fruiting when my casing layer reaches about 60-70% colonization is day. i experiment at different amounts, but i seem to get good results like this so far.
anywho, pics would help. and opening it for a little while shouldnt be much of an issue.

I didn't pack it down and all - literally just aprinkled it on.
As per my questions - do you think watering it is okay? As I said I was under the impression that it the monotub waa supposed to remain closed at this time. Would spraying a 3% colonized casing layer help if the problem is in fact dryness?
Thanks.

honestly i cant say for sure so id rather not answer(also a picture is truly worth a 1000 words in these situations). i WILL say this however. when i spray my monos, its never before the first flush unless truly dry. and always on the walls and never the substrate/myc itself.
while it probably wouldnt hurt to spray a little bit, im not sure if its necessary. ill let others answer you better though.
personally i plan to post lots of pictures of my grow once my myc starts growing in lol. ive always just gone with my gut but i dont know if ive ever really done everything perfectly(well i KNOW i havent). and ive never gotten the TRULY beautiful canopies i see on here sometimes; while i HAVE gotten canopies of a sort, just not the PERFECT ones lol. im hoping that with the help of the experts here i can get there myself. it just takes time...
good luck buddy!
