Bummer, but I don't like clicking outside links. Upload you pics to shroomery, you get free space and when you upload is clears the meta data from your file! Can't wait to check out your pics!

looking good but your cakes are extremely dry, you should mist them more often and roll them in verm before fruiting next time.

I did dunk and roll, then more mycelium grew from that vermiculite. Is this why they are bruised?

they bruise because they're dry. I dont think much verm could've stuck, look at the cakes in the back

Oh yeah I hadn't mentioned, originally when I dunked and rolled I only had room for 7 of 10 cakes in the water bowls. The other three I left in the jars for a couple more days until they actually fruited. I wanted to allow those fruits to grow so i couldn't really dunk them without drawing them (I thought), so I just birthed them and put them in the FC. At least one of those three is doing really well though.

That's a good question, this is my first time so I'm not sure either, but my impression from what I have read and what I planned on doing was to dunk after every harvest. But for me, the fruits are all at different stages of growth (one just broke its veil), so I might have to harvest individually, then just choose when it is best to dunk for the second flush.

pins love a good dunk, try and bury your cakes next time if the verm dont stick properly after rolling. and mist your cakes daily, whenever they arent glistening in moisture.

hell yeah you got a couple fatties! Make sure you mist regularly like space said. If you're not sure just touch the cake, they should feel a little moist to the touch. If they don't... mist them!
Space you said "pins love a good dunk?" I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean by this. I've heard that pins survive dunking, and once or twice I even repeated this info, but my pins always abort when I dunk them. How long do you dunk that the pins do not abort?

they can do 24 hrs just fine, they just gotta be able to dry afterwards. cakes in sgfc have pretty awesome FAE so I wouldnt worry with them but a poorly dialed in monotub could give you trouble, or if you're just overly exited and mist before the pins get a chance to dry.

I've read conflicting information that we shouldn't mist the cakes directly. So it's fine to mist directly?

in a sgfc, yes. in a glass aquarium with no holes, no.

Thanks Space! Just to be clear, should I spray the whole cake very well or just the sides or just the top? I've only been spraying the sides of the sgfc until I just 2 minutes ago hahaha.

spray cakes, fruits, perlite. just until it glistens, dont overdo it. then wait until the cakes no longer glisten and mist again.
make sure you've raised your sgfc and built it properly. www.mushroomvideos.com

Personally wouldn't expect anything else for a first grow, they look awesome! Pretty keen on doing my first grow, just need a source of good spores.
