RIP getting regular uninterupted sleep

Some days I don't even sleep. Some days, I get a few hours... while other days I get 12+.
back when I was on neuroleptics and all sorts of pharms, I got to sleep every night. Not the case anymore.
This morning I got tired at 4... then all of a sudden I was super wired, like I had taken a few bumps of cocaine. Now i'm just kind of normal, with noticeable exhaustion.

I'm in the same boat. I'm on the very end of a Buperenorphine taper and I'm slowly subsiding into an insomnia phase. Which I presume will last a few weeks. Happens to me like clockwork when detoxing off opiates. It's a terrible side effect. Sleep Deprivation is a great torture/mind control tactic for a very good reason. Lack of sleep will hinder cognitive function. Hopefully this my last go-around.

Do you have problems shutting off your brain? This is my problem...
I wish I was still prescribed Concerta so I could just plow through the rest of my day and fall asleep at a more reasonable hour instead of staying up all night and going about my day and sleeping whenever I manage to get a couple hours or so.

I sleep fine from about 11pm until around 3am. After that it's rolling around trying to get comfortable until I have to get ready for work. I've tried taking melatonin but it didn't do anything for me.
Damn I wish I could smoke some reefer

My sleep pattern sucks now, getting up at 5:30 everyday just fucks up your sleep cycle. Sleeping in for me is like 9am. It sucks
I don't get good sleep like I used to unless I'm eating benzo's. I wake up too often at night now too
I've been smoking less weed now too so my dreams are getting really vivid and intense and they'll wake me up then I can't stop thinking about it and I lose like an hour of sleep

My brain is like a 24 hour carnival. Shit never stops. If I'm not drastically tired I will be up all night researching nonsense, cleaning, etc. I can sit still fine. But my mind is hyper as Fuck

Diphenhydramine has been helping me catch some z's but I didn't take it yesterday and have been awake for a very long time. I may try to find a benzo later today, I'm not sure... I'm going to give blood at 11am first.
Last time I had regular sleep was the day after my last mushroom trip, which i slept normal hours for a week or so after. the anxiety from coming off those mushrooms was absolutely horrendous, and i had no supplements except for some L-theanine to counteract it.

I used to take antihistamines all the time for their drowsy side effect to help me sleep, now they're absolutely worthless in helping me sleep.

I normally am an insomniac, so its funny this thread popped up. I fell asleep at like 10 pm yesterday and slept all night. No panic attacks while falling asleep, waking up confused, having sleep paralysis, lucid dreams, nightmares, anything. Just 8 hours or uninterrupted sleep. First time in months.

You're not the first person i've heard that from. I wonder if it causes permanent changes in the brain or damage? I'm using dph infrequently, i try not to use it several days in a row

Well just like any other drug, eventually you gain tolerance and the same amount does less than it used to with no tolerance

Sure, but it seems like that tolerance lasts a lot longer than normal drugs

I use it to sleep. I'm taking others as well though. I have to take a huge dose of DPH or I won't feel anything because I've been on the shit for years. No matter what my tolerance never really seems to climb above 200mg which is how much I currently take. I also take Doxylamine, Temazepam and Nyquil. Didn't start out that way, they've just kinda been tacked on one after another. After I quit drinking the Temazepam was no longer strong enough to put me out on it's own.
I really need to dial back what all I take but I kinda don't want to because I know I'm not going to be sleeping for weeks when I do. I had started to a few weeks ago and then I started getting withdrawal from the nyquil. Hard feeling to describe, was kind of like lightheadedness combined with a mild electrical shock in my brain. I was getting that feeling every 20 minutes or so for the few days I stopped taking the nyquil and it stopped immediately after redosing on it and hasn't started up again. So I'm pretty positive that's what it is.
EDIT: By tolerance not raising above 200mg I mean that's the dose where I'll still feel something no matter what. It's still not as effective as it would be after a break, but if I take just 150mg long enough, eventually I'll get to where I cannot feel anything at all. That never seems to happen at 200mg, it just gets to be a very mild effect.

Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. It's definitely possible. Each drug is unique
