Can you inoculate a bag twice?
    #23364884 - 06/20/16 07:54 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

If you had a WBS bag and it started showing growth but completely stopped after one square inch of colonization. Would it be possible to inoculate again with different spores? It's been almost a month since first inoculation

Grab the bag on both sides and pull it apart slowly.  The bag will inflate with air through the filter and should stimulate growth

I did that a couple weeks ago. All 3 of them started slowing down and I mixed and dispersed as well as I could. Two of them came back stronger but one did nothing

Do you move it around a lot?  If you are mixing it up with only an inch of growth it might be recovering.  After shaking or mixing I don't see any growth for at least two days.  Pics?

Don't have any pics at the moment, but it's been a couple weeks since I shook it, and no sign of growth, while the others are at 60-70%. I already inoculated again, just cause I figured why not since it's not doing anything. Do you think the second inoculation could take? There's no visible mycelium anywhere in the bag, even when I twist and probe around in the middle

Yeah it might work but something stopped your live culture from growing and it will likely stop whatever you put in it next.  You have to figure out what that is since you don't have pics and your info isn't that accurate.
One time I shot up some quart jars and didn't see anything for a week, so I did an open air g2g with a colonized pint jar and all three quart jars finished and fruited a nice tub.  I wouldn't recomend this as its a lazy and very primitive form of cultivation, but it worked.  The variables are a little different here.
Let me know how it goes.

You could possibly have a bacterial contamination. When you mix your bags or jars and it doesn't recover thats usually a sign

It stopped growing for a reason and adding more spores probably won't help.

Learn to make clean culture on agar to increase your rate and chance of success with grains.
