Help with ID'ing: white with brown speckles. (inactive)
    #23364356 - 06/20/16 04:47 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Found in Atlanta, GA Metro Area. These are coming in huge flushes on a pile of mulch in my front yard! I'm sure this isn't active, just curious and having some trouble ID'ing. Would like to know if palatable, should they happen to be edible, or if they have any medicinal properties. Thanks!

Habitat: Pine mulch.

Gills: White. Some subtle pink-ish bruising around the rim. (pictured)

Stem:
3-5 inches (pictured)

Cap:
1"-2" in diameter.

Spore print color: Haven't taken a print yet. Will if necessary.

Bruising: Starts cream/white, then bruises pinkish-orange then to rusty brown.

Other information: Potent grocery store shroom odor.

Thinking Leucoagaricus sp. but I'm not well versed with these.

That looks really close, but it looks like Leucoagaricus have a "ring" on their stems?

You can see traces of an annulus in the largest specimen. Yours aren't the freshest, so the velar remnants have probably fallen off.
