Not sure what you have or what you want. The main things you need are pressure cooker for sterilization and glovebox for aseptic work place. You can start by educating yourself about mycology. Read through this site, use search engine and gather knowledge. Without knowledge you will be wasting a lot of cash for useless things.

Laundry basket could dry out fast.
Straw logs are a good way to go.
Try making your own bags out of 4mm. poly plastic drop sheets from Home Depot and good packing tape. (good way to get started)
10 inch diameter by 2 and 1/2 foot long or longer.
to get 10 inches diameter you would need 32 inch wide strip.
Don't forget punching your 1/4" inch holes every six inches apart..

Scour Craigslist, ReStores, and thrift stores. If you are patient, you can find almost anything and really stretch that two hundo.

If you're going to make logs you don't need an impulse sealer, just tie the ends or use zip ties..

I love the drop cloth idea. I was trying to figure out something like that last week. It never even crossed my mind.

16" 4mil will get you some decent sized logs. Just tie the ends in a knot. Buy from staples.com and ship free to a store near you.
