Are these synthetic filter discs?
    #23363147 - 06/20/16 08:13 AM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Just received what I was led to believe are synthetic filter discs through the mail. These look in no way like what has been posted on this forum. They are as thin as a4 paper I kid you not. Have a look and someone please let me know if I have been bumped?!

I ordered some for the first time just a week or two ago. Mine came in about 10x as thick as yours..
Not saying your won't work, cause I have no idea, but mine definitely look different.
I'll post some pics for comparison.

Wow, the comparison is shocking. I actually paid like £9 for 2 discs. These don't look like they would last 5 fucking minutes :mad2: I have a suspicion that the bloke has pulled a fast one and sent me filter "paper"
Thanks for the pictures as now I have a proper comparison. Will be looking for a refund now.

Mine are no where near as thick as those. Id say in the middle between the first pics and the second.

Mine are about 1mm thick.  Any thinner and I'd be concerned about the same kind of issues you'd get with tyvek.

Supposedly they have a hydrophobic side and made from PTFE. I have since requesting a refund and have ordered from the states. Will take a lot longer but hey hey, maybe end up with what is described.

Those look like discs of filter paper, used for liquids. The discs the site vendors offer are the sfd's you want.

My thoughts exactly. This person is trying it on! It was the only vendor I could find in the uk that sold "SFD's" ordered some from the states. It's now just a waiting game.

Those look more like CFDs. Like found here: http://out-grow.com/cultivation-equipment-c-1/regular-mouth-cellulose-filter-discs-70-mm-p-161.html

These are the SFDs I use: http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=SFDI01

OP: Your filters look like filter paper for liquid filteration. Like these: http://www.mycosupply.com/cgi-bin/shopper.cgi?preadd=action&key=FPVF01

Yea, they are CDF. Cellulose, or whatever.
I was, and still am, completely ignorant of the difference.
