Does walmart have them this time of year? I know that I tried to purchase some recently, and I was told that they were seasonal items. My local GiganticGroceryStore (Save On), however, had some. Nice and cheap, too.
But this is in Canada...

My Wal-Mart has them all year long. It is a super Wal-Mart and they are by the papertowels and plastic bags in the grocery area. Bought 12 wide-mouth quarts there.

true value carries them year around, they are the only place in my town that sells them at all, if you really have that much trouble, i will send you some for the price of the jars and shipping, but jars are heavy, it will be like 50 bucks for 12 shipped.

If it comes down to it use 8 oz drinking glasses. Hurricane glasses that taper out are great. Also, if Wally doesn't have 'em, check out your local goodwill or thrift store.

Albertsons, Ralphs, Rite Aid, Longs, Kroger, Safeway, Raleys, Vons, Walmart, Kmart, Target. Pretty much any large chain grocery store like Fee said.

I've found that the walmart around here has them all year long, but for some reason puts them in a different place during the off season. During canning season they have them in the section with pots & pans. During the winter they move them to an isle in the grocery section near the spices. Every walmart is probably a little different so you might have to just spend a while prowling the store (since most of the emplyees there won't have a clue.)

Just seal them the same way you would with jars... good old aluminum foil.

My walmart here is orlando has lots of the jars, and I wouldn't really consider it to be a rurual area either... I just think it depends on the walmart, but i couldn't imagine them to not have them. Walmart has everything! (well almost)
