Need help with ID in Louisiana
    #23362072 - 06/19/16 09:14 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

I found this in a horse pasture in central Louisiana today.  They were growing from a pile of horse dung.  There were several piles with each having 2 - 4 mushrooms.  They ranged from 1 - 4 inches tall with a cap generally an inch or less in diameter.  They were mostly white with just a touch of yellow on the top and jet black gills.

The stem did not seem to bruise any specific color.  The cap seemed to bruise black or maybe really really dark purple.

I thought it was cubensis, but I'm not so sure as it didn't bruise correctly.  A few of the mushrooms had a hole that looked like it was eaten by a bug or something.  I didn't see a veil or remnants of a veil on any of them.

After some further research, I'm guessing Panaeolus Cyanescen.

Panaeolus antillarum is what I'm seeing, not active.

Very white, thick stem (comparably). They would turn blue all over after handling.
