No, but that would work in theory because if it's frozen your warm breath would aid in warming it up
if it's too hot blow on it, if it's too cold blow on it, blow all the little food dicks

I wish i could upload this gif i saw on reddit last week on front page. This guy had like a reverse oven which was a cold slab similar to what's used in coldstone creamery.
He poured cream onto the slab into a giant blob then pushed it around. Slowly it cooled(well pretty fast, the whole deal took about 15 seconds) and starts taking form. By the end he has three or four rolls (yes rolls, shaped like cinnamon sticks) standing vetically in a cup garnished with strawberries and shit. It was fantastic.
Back on topic, no that would be stupid. I have breathed heavily after taking to big of a bite of cold food, effectively blowing on food in my mouth, but that doesn't really count.

Can't say that I have. It's good to stay in the practice though, wouldn't want it to slip your mind while eating soup one night because you skipped the blow on that ice cream the night before.
Better safe than sorry.

My one year old son blows on cold food all the time. Before I give him something that's too hot, I blow on it to cool it a bit, and he noticed this but hasn't figured out why I'm doing it. He just thinks blowing on food is something you're supposed to do, which means he blows on yogurt, bananas, blueberries, etc.

Why would this be a bad idea? Human breath is much warmer than, for example, ice cream. I doubt blowing on it has a significant effect, though.

I notice my nephew doing that, and all kinds of other behaviors he obviously picked up along the way. So cute.

I still don't understand how this is a mistake.
A lot of people blow out after they've taken a bite of cold food because it warms their mouth back up. Even if it's the first bite, blowing out increases the temperature of the mouth slightly and does transfer a small amount of heat the cold food.
I've done it, and continued to do it. I never did it, and said, "Why am I doing this?" Because it's a perfectly sensibly behavior. It's not as effective as blowing on hot food, but blowing out does make cold food easier to ingest.
That's my one borderline autistic post for the day. You're welcome.

Get it together, morrow.
This is a discussion about blowing on beforehand, not blowing out afterwards...gee whiz.

Also, his first post on the topic was directed at me, and I wasn't talking about ice cream or anything else frozen, but rather stuff like yogurt and fruit. I mean, it's no big deal that my son wants to blow on his graham crackers, but it's not as beneficial as morrowasted thinks it is. I kinda suspect he'll grow out of the "blow on all food" phase when he understands the purpose better.
