My Trips Are Changing - Why?

Hey guys,
I've been cultivating and experiencing the wonder that is shrooms for about two years now.
I've recently noticed, my trips from my first year are vastly different from my second year.
First year:
I would feel massive amounts of love towards everyone and everything (probably serotonin uptake?) and have an incredibly good positive mood, obviously my empathy went through the roof.
I would also consider things about my life more deeply: going into sessions of really deep introspection that I didn't normally achieve when playing on 'normal mode' (no psycs)
I didn't ever really have any negative thoughts or get anything like a bad trip for the majority of my trips.
i had 2 or 3 'bad' trips during my first year - they were all dark and obviously very different feelings from the normal trips BUT I still learn't a lot from them and didn't feel traumatised or anything, I had no massive amounts of fear or anxiety, just really dark thoughts and would constantly swap between this reality and some sort of dream world.
During my first year I tried fresh and dried, all my own grown shrooms, I had 4 different 'types 'strains?' of cubes from a variety of countries as I bought 4 grow boxs from some website and then made spore prints and started doing everything myself (brf cakes, shotgun and then bulk).
Second year:
Now when I take shrooms....I still have a lot of fun, laugh a lot and feel 'close' to whoever i'm taking them with (usually my girl) I also have some of the introspection which can be good...but some major differences:
The super 'love' feeling - no. Empathy - yeah to some degree, I feel bad for not taking care of my dog better or treating some of my friends better and I understand how they must feel or think about particular things, i can read and understand the people around more better - NOT as strongly as 1st year though. Itchiness - It's hot here, so we thought here was mosquitos and when i checked my skin last night - none....but it really really felt like mosquito bites, after a brief google I found others were also reporting having this 'itchy' feeling. The super positive/happy feeling - much more reduced, like maybe.....70% less.
Sometimes real strong bouts of depression or negativity - I am a pretty positive person and don't think i've ever really had major probs with depression, last nights trip is where this happened quite strongly (2nd year not much at all - just the last 3 trips within the last 3 months) where I had probably 30 mins or so where I had a fuckton of negative self talk and was really beating myself up mentally, felt like a failure, loser ect ect ect.
Definite bad trips:
I think i've had like one bad trip this year and it wasn't all bad...maybe 60% of the time felt like a 'bad trip' the rest was laughing and cool visuals, the bad trip part was me thinking about murdering people and that my friend was betraying me and lots of anger.....the more frightening part was that I kinda felt my personality split like that there was another 'me' who wanted to go and hurt my friends, now any time i have any fucked up thoughts or feelings on shrooms or weed (which is very rarely) I still have the equilibrium to detach, analyze and go 'that's fucken stupid/the drugs talking' and not get controlled by it.
The other weird part of that bad trip was that both my girl and I while hugging each other started feeling SUPER HOT (not the sexy kinda hot) and had trouble breathing, this went on for about half a min or a full min and then went away.
First year: approx 20 to 30 trips, all 'cubes' but from say 'amazon' 'colombia' 'mexico' 'equador' (not sure if them being from diff locations makes a diff as it's all cubes and all really the same chemical in all of them (pls correct me if i'm wrong) Second year: 10 trips: All shrooms made via sporeprint from one of the original boxes i bought.
I rarely mix shrooms with anything, don't really drink any alcohol before or during, no other substances, haven't tried them with weed (should i?) and the only thing I took yesterday was some modafinil early early in the day (i think like....11am, took the shrooms at 1:30am) which i only started taking in the last 3 months - again, not every day.
Anyone able to share any light on why the 'love for everyone/thing' feeling is reduced and why the itchiness thing is starting?
Any comments, insights and useful info is super appreciated, thanks dudes.

You just need a break, that's all. If you put it away for a year or two when you come back it'll be just like the first time.
As far as the itchy goes, I've got no idea. Ghost mozzies?

Hey mate,
Thanks a lot for the reply.
I read here https://www.shroomery.org/6265/Physical-Effects-of-Mushrooms That itching is a possible side effect.
I am partially asking 'what to do' to get the best trip i can but am mostly asking 'why'.
So I had a good 6 + months where I didn't take any shrooms and perhaps smoked a little weed, could you perhaps explain why you think waiting a year would make a difference?
As far as i know all the mushroom chemicals leave ur body within about two weeks, so i don't understand why I a year would make a different physically.

Seems like the novelty is wearing off. Taking a break would lower expectations too. Imagine eating your favorite food very often. After a while you'd start to become complacent about it and compare it to past experiences. "Sure, it tastes good but the time I had it at wherever was 70% better..." Perhaps you should also spend more time integrating the experience from the first year into your sober life. The mushroom experience has shown you things about yourself but you keep expecting to be taught the same lessons.

Think seriously about doing different strains and/or species, as they all will have either subtly or obviously different effects. If you grow the same strain too long you can get locked into a particular "flavor" of trip. Different starts will lead to different results.
Also, yes, eat more.
Finally, that first experience string is kind of the honeymoon phase. Now ya gotta try harder, but the results get even better, i.e., ya gotta let go harder, because you know have some idea of what trips are "supposed to be like" and it's interfering with what they ARE like.

the world is change. trips change as well. i don't remember the first time i played nintendo or rode a bike, but i remember my first trips. thus is the nature of the world. although the appearance of a toyota camry does change over the years with new editions, it is in fact still a toyota camry. the shrooms change and stay the same. you change due to the trips and due to aging in life. so simple yet so profound. when i visit the woods i do not ask the trees if they stayed the same. i simply acknowledge them for what they are. they are still there, yet they have changed. when i eat a packet of gushers i do not take note of whether they all look the same or whether they have changed. i savor the flavor and go about my day. may we all embrace the change and treasure that which remains the same.

About itchiness - I had such symptoms when I didn't dry mushrooms properly and they got contaminated with mold. I didn't notice it before I ate some, and after several hours I had very itchy rash. It lasted for about 24 hours. No other symptoms.
It really matters how you grow and dry them. Some contams won't kill you but will spoil the fun. I guess FAE during growth, maturity of fruits and something else may have influence on trips also.
About being hot - same shit. I'm not sure why this happens. Tripping is a stress for body and mind. Maybe now your organism really hates trips and treats them like a desease. Did you notice you like mushrooms' taste and smell much less than earlier?
How about preparation for a trip? Do you pay less time and attention to it now? It's important to prepare. Sleep well, spend time with your friends before a trip, read something positive.
Or maybe you are just getting old. Or you are just fed to the teeth with it. 20-30 trips is a lot. It's normal the 46th trip is not as fun as the 2nd.
The brightest trips I have ever had were all on orange/lemon juice. Try my personal tek (you may need a bit (a bit!) more mushrooms because not all actives are going to dissolve): - Pour juice of 1 lemon in your grinded mushrooms, wait 1-2 hours. - Add a cup of cold water, wait 6 hours (up to 24). Stir sometimes. - Filter it and drink. Don't eat the mushroom flesh.

The empathy might be the anteroom of some darker rooms you might want to go to. You dont go there if empathy for yoursef and others is not intact, otherwise you risk not coming back.

It could just be you growing as a person, or it could be a sign of a mental health issue.
If you have even any slight feeling of abnormality in your mental state, get checked ASAP.
The sooner you treat it, the better off you'll be. I've never heard of getting itchy from mushrooms though.
Most times itchiness is a histamine reaction of sorts.

Why don't you eat the mushroom flesh afterwards? Just curious. Every time I lemontek, I eat the mushrooms too.

I don't eat them because raw mushrooms may be heavy for stomach (and they are, especially after some fasting). And I want to consume as little substances besides actives as possible.
