A parable
    #23359403 - 06/18/16 10:16 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Just wanted to share a parable I found:

Quote:

Don't waste your life just building earthly homes. And remember the immortal home you have left behind, that you will return to in the future. Once you remember that place, you will no longer consider those homes to be homes.

Some children were playing with sand on the bank of a river. They had made houses of sand and each was proclaiming "This is my house. Mine is the best and nobody else can have it." They went on playing like this, and if one of them damaged another's house in some way, they quarrelled, they fought. Slowly the darkness of dusk began to gather and they remembered that they had to go home. Just like that, they left their houses and palaces; none of them thought anymore about "mine" and "yours."

What do you guys think?

God is trying to get us to acknowledge Him. Since Eve had listened to the serpent, that she believed that the serpent was there to help them; but she thought that God was just a ordinary being, not there to save them from destruction, that He doesn't know what He is talking about. She did not acknowledge whom He is. God is trying to let us know that He is all knowing that is in control of everything, and without Him, that there will be nothing at all. The devil was made so that we can come to acknowledge whom He is.

Like a potter that he creates a clay pot. If he doesn't like it, that he has the power to crush back into fine powder, and recreate a more better clay pot. But all this is a learning process that we obtain, to see why God made thing the way it is.

Hosea 6:6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

Isaiah 45:9 “Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.

Isaiah 1:26 I will restore your leaders as in days of old, your rulers as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City.”

It's a nice parable. Actually no place here in this incarnation gives me the feeling of being at home. Makes no difference where I physcially am right now in this world, I don't have a feeling of being home - even if I am in my house right now. It's just a place, like every other place in this world. Just in this moment I am taking this certain space here and now to perceive everything around me. I can recall feelings of being at home - when being in the psilocybin trance and having no identification with this body, this gender, this age or every other thought identification I have when I am in my sober 'normal' human mindset. Some years ago I would feel very depressed about not being at home at a certain spot in this world. Friends would tell me something like "you haven't arrived yet", and I did believe them. This was before I got in contact with psychedelics and somehow now, I don't believe what they told me at all. It's like I know this is not my home, doesn't matter where I am in this dimension, I don't have the feeling of being at home and nowadays it's not depressing anymore but comforting, because I deeply know that home is somewhere else and I will get back there no matter what happens here.

No way, no purpose, no free will, no awakening, no enlightenment, what is, is. That's all.

The serpent was the more truthful being in Eden, for they "surely" did not die. If the God of the Old Testament was all knowing, why call out and ask where Adam and Eve were? Why did he regret making Humanity? Why make Job endure untold suffering and "sacrifice" to show off to Satan if Mercy is what he truly desired?

Would you drink the milk of a cow who ate another cow?

I might, but I would be far more interested in eating the cow that ate another cow.

Everyone is too busy looking at their phones to notice His message

Many fall prey to the tempting thoughts that we're defective and meant for a different life.

CS Lewis said it well, that this life on Earth just doesn't feel like home...

I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.

Is there a point in anything you said in this thread or are you just babbling?

You can solve any paradox..by understanding that all pieces have a place..and therefore their relation geometrically is honestly assumed as true..and therefore you have position and disposition..
