i hate MS syringes

noc'd 18 jars tonight but im pretty disappointed. hadnt thought too much about the fact that id let the MS syringes sit in my 'cold' enough basement for almost 3 months. 3 made it in the fridge, 2 didnt. dont ask why.
anyway the spores in there were clumped together worse than ive ever seen. this is the first time ive let my syringes sit for so long, and now im realizing why you dont do that. shook the living hell out of the 2 i used tonight but man, it wasnt looking too good.
meh, ill see in about a week or two if its OK. wish me luck i guess. but im not feeling as great about this grow anymore lol. i have 3 more MS syringes to go though. gonna go ahead and use all of them ASAP and just have a stupid ton of jars colonizing i guess. that way ill know if they are fucked sooner than later. and if so, restart.. -__-

I hate spore solutions as well but clumped spores are not really a problem. You will still have plenty of spores floating around.

If you flame the needle and suck in a small air bubble while still hot and over the flame, you can pull in a sterile air bubble that acts as an agitator to break up clumpy spores. It only takes a small bubble, but you can do it again if you didn't get the air bubble big enough.

This.
It's all good. Spore can survive outer space conditions, your basement is a pretty healthy safe environment. Also, I've read of cases where P.cubensis spores sat for over 40 years, and still germinated. (not a high germination rate though, but still they lives)

interesting, definitely have never heard that. ill MAYBE try it next time on one of em. im assuming though that if i get too much heat pulled in off the alcohol lamp, ill end up with a lot of dead spores instead of just un-clumped spores lol. seems risky.
otherwise i guess im just worrying too much again haha. as long as the syringes were sterile still and everything else was sterile as it shouldve been, even a few live spores should start me up with at least SOMETHING. hell ill be happy with a master grain jar or two of each strain. get back to my G2G's!

Pulling in a small bubble won't heat up the water in the syringe. You could certainly kill some spores if you pull in enough hot air. Just don't hold the needle right in the flame when pulling, just above it. You won't be puling in enough to kill your spores. I've done it many times.
You don't have to do it; it's just a suggestion.

He's just saying to flame the needle until red hot, not until the water boils or anything There are millions of microscopic spores in your syringe, you are only thinking that they are all clumped because the clumps are the only things big enough to see. If you had a microscope you could see how small they really are.

I doubt anything is wrong with any of the syringes, they may be in visible clump(s) but the smallest clump of spores visible with the eye is millions of spores and it really only takes two. This write up helps put it in perspective https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21365919/fpart/1/vc/1 The only problem with a large spore clump IMO is that it can clog the syringe, other than helping to shake, pulling back on the plunger with the needle in the flame also helps unclog the syringe if a clump clogs it up and plain flaming dosen't work to un clog it, dosen't harm the syringe at all.

I've had syringes sit in my basement for much longer and they usually showed signs of germination in PF Tek jars within 4-5 days under the right condition. I wouldn't underestimate those spores.

Will be trying this out for sure next time. I always get syringes with clumped up spores and I hate shaking them to break them up
Thank you man

<3 im a worrier i know. but thanks guys lol. ill try that next time. i usually actually squirt OUT a bit each time after i heat the needle to red in order to cool it down. doing the opposite just seemed weird to me, but it totally makes sense haha.
and i know theres a ton of spores in there i cant see :p im sure my jars will be fine hehe. they seemed almost perfect moisture content in the jars as well. had a really nice steam dry this time around.. only took like 45 minutes to full dry on the outside.
and yes.. a few nice dabs of oil was great for my stress >:) (you should see the oil ive been making recently. got a new vacuum purge set up and learned how to make crumble as well. my first attempt at crumble was shit, but the second run was FUCKING amazing! my shatter is the bomb too. anyone like pictures of erl? :p)

I always make sure to shake the daylights out of those syringes, after doing that air bubble trick. One time I inoculated and forgot to shake and a few jars didn't get any germination...
