So my casings (6) have been at 70-75 degrees for 6 days.....4 look good about 40% colonized. 2 are VERY FLUFFY white and I can barely see the coir anymore. the RH is 90%. MY question is should I deep scratch? and do I recase after doing so? and what does the very very beginning primordia look like? As if the mycelial strands are forming tiny little cotton balls? The mycelium is very white and fluffy, not matted and grey.

Ya, cotton balls. If you've been at fruiting temps for 6 days, you are prolly seeing the beginnings of hyphal knots.

You should have unmistakable pins in a few days tops.

I wouldn't scratch it unless it overlays. You don't want to kill your cotton balls now, do you?

Good luck, Homer!

I'm so ready to start growing. I've shroomed twice and loved it to no extent. --Mindgames
