so guys awesome as it is i finally got my first myc to begin developing I've tried around six times, which basically means i suck at sterilization, therefore i order pre-sterilized equipment from a sponsored vendor in this case a rye spawn bag after wards i injected WITHOUT opening the gussets (the sides of the bag) which stalled me for 5 days now im seeing beautiful white fluffy myc starting from the center outwards which was actually intentional as far as I've read injecting on the sides leaves one to have to question weather or not the center has colonized this way i have more, not certain, security that when it is finished its finished im going to attempt fruiting from the spawn bag any thoughts, questions, insults, or help are all greatly appreciated assuming the insults are related to mycology that is as i will learn from said comments

You can't tell me it's super hard to boil BRF jars in a pot with a lid for 90 minutes? Or buy a 70 dollar pressure cooker and sterilize your own grain for years? So hard that you would take the exact steps that would whittle your chances away to very low? Anybody can sterilize a couple jars at home.
What you've done is trusted a company to do the work for you. But what they can't do is turn back time for the jar they sterilized, which isn't really sterile, it just has a window where it can be inoculated before bacterial endospores germinate and take over. The problem is that you don't know when it was sterilized, or what kind of conditions it endured before it got to you. If it was sitting in hot mail trucks all week in the 90F range you can bet the latent bacteria in the grains will have a head start. Maybe it was sitting on a shelf in some guys house for a week before that.
I pretty much never see end-results for grows involving injecting pre-sterilized rye bags with syringes. You have the pre-sterilized rye, which is a problem for the reasons I just explained, then you're injecting grains with a spore syringe. Mushrooms are grown in open air, there are bacteria and mold flying around everywhere. Naturally tons of these find their way onto the mushroom. Spore syringes can be pretty clean, but only very very rarely are they absolutely clean. Grains are far less forgiving than BRF cakes when it comes to contamination so using a syringe on rye is just asking for it.
All that said... I would go ahead and plan on trying once more, since you may have sabotaged yourself a bit this time. I mean, I wish you luck and it'd be cool if it pulled through but, I wouldn't bother crossing my fingers if it were mine.

No insults but what do you mean you suck at sterilization dude? You put your BRF jars in a pot and steam them, or you put your grain jars in a PC and PC them. If you can inoculate pre sterilized spawn bags, then there's no reason why you can't inoculate your own jars. It's way cheaper, less time consuming (shipping), you're self sufficient, and you know exactly what's in your spawn or what's been done.

I'd attempt to get sterilization right before delving any deeper into this hobby. It's a very important part, perhaps the most important of all.

It's as easy as making ramen, if you don't have the self discipline to follow very simple instructions involving a stove and water, I don't see what kind of good use you might make out of felony narcotics.. Hello by the way, I'm the village asshole. You'll grow to love me in time.

my statement of sucking at sterilization was clearly vague im not stating i cant boil jars im saying im basically in a small area with many people, cats, and clothes all potentially containing contaminates.... that being said i have sterilized and inoculated jars none of which bore any fruitful results 7/10 bacterial infection after 120 min boil with almost no disturbance ( touched them day 7) the remaining 3/10 appeared to have no growth after two weeks. i attribute all this to my lack of skill/knowledge im interested in growing medicinals as i have many health issues i believe they can help and im tired of relying on pharma drugs... the spawn bags appear to be completely contam free even after having stalled potential wanted myc growth for some time i doubt not that i need to completely up my game before diving into major production of anything however if this works for me; it works for me and i will probably continue to use this method along with teaching myself proper self sterilization techniques i plan on continuously improving not ceasing to improve i have another 10 pf style jars completely home made i intend to innoc im not attempting to circumvent self discipline im simply attacking from multiple angles i probably shouldve mentioned that i am also trying pf again in my post as my first attempt was last year in the same environment and with far less knowledge/self discipline then i have now i COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE STAND POINT YOU EXPERIENCED GROWERS ARE TAKING you see a noob cutting corners and i am attempting to work my way out of noobdom on that note i apologize sincerely i have no doubt i will learn the self-sefficient method REQUIRED to make this hobby a hobby i just began with this option and seems to be working

Fair enough, just don't sell yourself short, and be aware of the vectors you introduce and the ones you leave to chance.
