I can dig that.  The neighbor that got attacked should in no way have too though.  Buy some people are trash and don't care what could possibly happen.  I just dont like seeing blame layed on innocent people.

In normal circumstances though, both neighbors would split the cost of a new fence evenly, and there was a need for a proper fence even if an incident like this hadn't happened (yet). Plus a fence that goes along the property line ends up essentially being owned by both neighbors and adds to the values of both properties.

Get cops to raid neighbors house. They'll put his dog down for you. Or just report a domestic dispute while the dog is out.

Double standard much?  I've met way more friendly rots than aggro ones.  Like pits, they're just vilified more easily because they are more capable of destruction and damage when they do become aggressive.

So your neighbor is a shitty pet owner, you didn't take necessary precautions to protect your animal,  the Rottweiler acted out of instinct...and your solution is to call the police kill the Rottweiler?  The only people who fucked up here are you and your neighbor.  Why should an animal have to suffer because of irresponsible owners??

Blaming a dog for both of your negligence is pretty pathetic pubbaby behavior.  You are the one who failed to protect your dog.  You have a Boston for fucks sake.  Maybe next time you move to a place with a bruiser rottie next door you should think it through a little further and ensure your little helpless dog is protected.

The whole situation sounds like a conjoined fault of the dog owners here.  Blaming the rottie is shitty, and you're a snitch.  I feel sorry for both of your dogs.

Dude the dog stopped to take a piss. It's not like they set up shop next to the fence and were like "Wow look at this huge dog, let's chill here for the next 38 hours"

You're just being a little ridiculous. If a dog's instinct is to attack then it's past the point of reform. Dogs like that don't need to exist and same with it's owners

No they just didn't secure their helpless dog's area, and suffered the consequences of their neighbor the other bad pet owner.  So two animals suffer because of a few humans.  Same as it ever was

Dog's are trainable till they die btw.  My family always owned rotties, my grandmother had 3, both aunts, my mom, and my cousin.  Every one of our dogs would fuck up anyone unwelcome who came on any of our properties, yet nobody ever got hurt as a result of our dogs who didn't deserve it.

So your solution too is to kill the dog, because 3 humans all played some role in letting this happen. Whether you want to acknowledge it or villify the dog makes no difference to the facts.  There is no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners

You're just over exaggerating. That's all

OP and his spouse really aren't at fault here at all. Their dog stopped to take a piss and got attacked. It's 100% on the other dog and their owner

The other owner's are not fit to have a dog. I think the best option would be to put the dog in some kind of rescue program but that might not be very realistic. I just think the other owner's need the dog to be taken away from them because they can't handle it

The key bit of information you are omitting here is that the dog stopped to take a piss on their property, and then got attacked.  It's not like a random rottie on the street came up and ripped their terrier to shreds.  This was a direct result of negligence on all sides.  The only beings who have no fault in this situation are the dogs

Bollocks. Dogs in a residential are a fucking nuisance and should not be allowed.

Off to the abattoir with em. I'd buy the meat.

If you leave chrome rims sitting in your front yard in Bankhead Atlanta,  and they get stolen, it's "100%" the thief's fault??  Just because the law deems it as such doesn't make it so.

Once again, you're over exagerrating and being ridiclous. You're acting like they went into the dudes fence to be like oh hey you can pee in here. That didn't happen though

The dog just stopped to piss and got attacked out of nowhere. Absolutely zero fault on the owner who's dog got attacked. 100% the fault of the shitty owners who just sat there and watched it happen

That's not how I'm acting at all.  I'm saying that the OP is partially responsible,  that the shitty owner is mostly responsible, and the dogs aren't at fault.  I'm saying that the fence wasn't secured and you damn sure can't blame that shit on a dog.

But yeah a baseball bat will solve everything

lol snitch eh? for calling animal control when a dog attacks my dog on my property and bites me while breaking it up.
That is pretty laughable. You can think whatever you want, but that one was pretty ridiculous.

I'm also confused as to where you are getting I advocated killing the dog? I mean If I had my gun on me in the heat of the moment I probably would have shot it, but I don't care what they do with it now as long as they you are forced to contain it.

I'm not paying for a new fence because these assholes can't contain their dog. My dogs won't go near that fence again. If it comes over or under I'll shoot it. No different then if I were walking in public and some unleashed dog attacked me or my pet.

These people blatantly can't control their dog or care. They didn't even bother taking it in to get vet care. I feel bad for it. It's not licenced or vaccinated. Probably has heart worm and will die, but I am not responsible for their dog.

Yeah obviously it's the owners fault's here but I'd say its like 1% OP's fault and 99% the fault of the other dog owner who just watched it happen and didn't care. Clearly they are the problem

And yeah baseball bat might be a bad call but a nice whack to the knee to some asshole dog owner who almost just let my dog die? Yeah I'll take those chances. If you fuck with my dog then you're fucking with me. And fuck that. When keeping it real, goes wrong

On a very real level I'd probably kill that other dog
