Learning-Help identify please?

Hi everyone, i've joined this forum as I have started finding a few mushrooms I would love to get identified to see which I can use as food or medicines and which are poisonous, Ive come a fair way and can identify quite a few edible ones but struggling with polypores etc. Can anyone tell me what these 2 mushrooms are? One is a species of polypore as has pores underneath instead of gills and was found on a dead hardwood tree but im not sure exactly what it is, the other I have no idea about, its white with purple/black centre and found growing on a live hardwood tree, white gills extending down stem, there were more in the area of both types so I just took 1 bit of each to identify. Can anyone help please? Spore Prints are underway but 3 hrs in still none so hopefully overnight?

Whitish gilled one might be a Gerronema or something related. Other one is a Ganoderma sp.

Awesome! Thanks for helping out. So this Ganoderma can be used as a medicine? And the Gerronema edible?

You can apparently make a tea or extract with the Ganoderma, I don't really know how or if your specimen is in a favourable condition for doing so.
The "Gerronema" I'm not too sure what is, but nothing you should consume.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I'll look more into the Ganoderma as I know about Reishi but not this species. I also have some other im not sure about but waiting for spore print to see if I can identify myself, otherwise i'll be sure to ask. Thanks Anglerfish!

Hello Romeogalvan,
You need to start your own thread in order to get an i.d. You will also need photos of the underside of the mushroom (the gills) as well as a good photo of the stem. Many mushrooms cannot be id'ed by viewing the tops only.
Check out the basic id form here and post away: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/5731447
