So if YOU know that YOUR dog can get under YOUR fence, why would you or your wife let it near the chain link fence.  Totally her fault.  Have her kiss your broken hand to make it better, brah.

I agree.  You can't completely blame the neighbor here.  You know the fence is fucked, you do nothing to fix the situation, she walks the dog over to a spot an aggressive dog can attack it for getting near it's territory. It's what aggressive dogs do, it's all he knows.

I would've done anything I could to save my dog too, but this is a 2 way street.

The dog never attacked my boston before. Not like it was expected. My privacy fence had a foot gap he can get under the chain link has zero. Their fence is 4 foot high, the rottweiler can easily jump it. Should I pay to privacy fence their yard so they can keep their dog aggressive contained. probably not.

If you have a dog aggressive dog It's your responsiblity to keep it contained not mine. I had a dog aggressive apbt for 10 years. I would consider myself completely culpable if the same thing happened with him, but it didn't because I kept him on a fucking leash not in a yard in an apparently unsecured fence all day.

Yeah. because keeping a dog aggressive dog behind an unsecure fence is totally the responsibility of everyone but it's  pile of dicks owner. Thankfully my counties animal control doesn't share your opinion.

He could get over it no problems. After this incident, they will either have to get rid of the dog or get a privacy fence to keep it. At least that is how it played out with my idiot friend that had dog aggressive dog that escaped his yard. It didn't even attack anything.

i hate opening this can of worms, but.....this is similar to a drunk/drugged person getting so fucked up (blackout or near enough it) then not taking responsibility when someone either physically takes advantage of them or steals from them

your wife put the dog in a situation where something could have easily happened.  the fact it was on a leash, and she didn't pull it away from the fence the moment the rot began its approach.....yea, sorry man

don't speed then bitch when you get a ticket

how many similar examples do you need?

basic animal nature is to take.  don't allow yourself or the things you love to be put in a position where someone can easily take

You people are ridiculous. By your logic if you are out walking your leashed dog and it gets attacked by an unleashed dog It's your fault. Which at least under the law in my state/County isn't the case.

I bet you tell rape victims their asking for it too then... Well nv you deffinetly just said that. haha

So it has never jumped the fence before.

Youre just under the assumption it would?

Fix the hole, keep your dog away from their dog.  I bet your house has a window, maybe more than one, look out it, see a dog? Wait a minute.

Discuss options with your neighbor. If the dog didn't leave it's property and your girl walked your dog over to it's territory by it's fence next to a hole and the dog pulled it through the hole ( I am assuming your dog went into this hole though ) then the dog did not leave it's property, you jumped into it and mercilessly beat his dog ( I don't blame you for doing that, but I do blame your lady for this happening )

You aren't getting the neighbors a privacy fence, you are getting yourself one.  You're the one that can't keep your dog on your own property.

You made a thread on a message board about mushrooms asking for advice, all the advice you have been given you are crying like a bitch about.

based on the fact that there are fences, in fact two of them, this is a relatively controlled situation.  if you're walking out in the open and another animal attacks, then that is significantly less controlled.  however, you would certainly have the option of picking your dog up out of reach of the other animal, then beating the ever loving shit out of it with your legs.

most rape victims are not at fault.  it is a matter of strength.  why don't you pay attention to the specific detail of the example i provided.  if one relinquishes control of their self/inhibition, then someone is likely to take advantage of that person (in whatever way you want to imagine, it doesn't have to be rape.  note how i included theft.) if you live in a shitty neighborhood where break-ins are common and you leave your front door open or car unlocked, it's your fault for being robbed

How am I crying like a Bitch? Not agreeing with you is crying like a bitch? Doesn't matter if the precedent in my County is any indicator they will have to come up with the money to secure their dog aggressive dog. Also, you can post whatever you want but I never asked for advice.

You're gonna have to fix the fence, or keep bitching when it happens again because your chick is too retarded to keep your pooch away from another one.

No, they will have get a fence that can contain it or get rid of the dog most likely. As seems to be the precedent here. Also, you are stating things like this should have been somehow anticipated. This was the first time this dog ever attacked my dog obviously, but whatever.

Read OP. Damn that sucks. I feel for you. I hate it when animals get wild especially when it's some other dumb ass who has his dog all free and shit but has no command over them and just stands there dumbfounded.

I live by a dog park so it kind of happens a lot; not to the level OP talking about, but I got dogs running up the slope and getting in a match with my dog between the bars of our fence. Or I see/hear owners losing control of their dogs in general down in the park on regular.

But yeah fuck dumb people. Especially when it involves animals. Especially animals of predatory nature.

Terrible thing happened to person and pet because of irresponsible neighbors . Shroomery blames victim for not "being more careful " sorry OP but I just think you should take a knee on this one. Be glad your dogs okay and tend to your hand. If that happened and my dog died I'd definitely shoot the neighbors dog. Eye for an eye

I'm not saying he didn't do right and I don't feel bad for him, but I'm with cali when he said that it could have been avoided since they had knowledge of the fence issue and the aggressiveness of the other dog.

I'm literally just offering advice.

It's like that dad that let his kid get eaten by an alligator, or the stupid gorilla incident.

They should have more caution with their kids, and this dudes girl should have been more cautious in the hood next to a rott.

I wasn't aware of the aggressiveness of the other dog. Well up until it was trying to eat my dog. We've had the Boston for two weeks. I don't remeber saying I thought it was overtly aggressive pre-attack. If I did I miss spoke and again, If your dog is aggressive you should be responsible for containing it.

Vandango I remeber everyone giving you shit about all your legal trouble back in the day. I'm sure you didn't consider yourself to be bitching when you disagreed. I remember mocking you about it to though so carry on. You arent hurting my feelings. Odd I remeber that.
