dude, you said it yourself, the dog did not "get out"
it pulled your dog through a weak point in TWO fences (one being yours...privacy fences are generally 6-8' high, by the way, how tall is yours?).
edit: let's say this happens again. exact same situation. who are you going to blame, then?

Given the city you are in, Your dog size, your neighbor, and the assumption you want to protect your dog, it seems like the most correct answer to that question is yes.
You are just making me regret not shooting it. Would be a lot easier the paying to fence and contain a dog that isn't mine. If I'm followino your logic.

8ft. and he never got under. It looked like he possibly could. The chain link fence didn't even look like he could go under and he didn't go through it he was pulled. He didn't get pulled through 'two' fences just the neighbors. I even. posted a picture of the fence in this thread. Guess you didn't see it...
I never said anywhere in my post he got under my privacy fence. Just looked like he possibly could. That fence doesn't border their yard.

Considering how much you come across as a whiny little bitch on here, I doubt you have the balls to do anything like that. Most dog owners would beat the fuck out of you for doing that. You might as well be giving their children rat poison candy. I doubt you understand the love and bond an owner (who actually cares about their dog) has with their dog, but they are family and you do not fuck with family.

I don't give a flying fuck for your love of you particular little waggy tailed shit machine. They are a fucking pest and a fucking nuisance in any residential area.

I mean your dog went over to its territory. You have known this dog was back there and the fence was shit. All I'm saying is that you could have avoided this whole thing with a little prevention. Hindsight is 20/20 though. It just sounds to me like lots more could have been done to protect your dog.

Maybe you could learn to quote without fucking it all up.
Also you're straight up retarded if you think your neighbor isn't gonna know who did it. People don't generally go around tossing poisoned food into random people's yards. Poisonings almost always happen following some long standing dispute by that asshole neighbor.

OP and his spouse really aren't at fault here at all. Their dog stopped to take a piss and got attacked. It's 100% on the other dog and their owner
The key bit of information you are omitting here is that the dog stopped to take a piss on their property, and then got attacked. It's not like a random rottie on the street came up and ripped their terrier to shreds. This was a direct result of negligence on all sides. The only beings who have no fault in this situation are the dogs

You are seriously acting like the neglectful owner that lets an aggressive rot roam their yard without supervision or any restraint isn't at fault here. I've had friends with extremely violent dogs and they always had to keep a tight leash on them. Metaphorically and literally . Why does this owner get none of the blame ?

if it dragged your dog under a fence, then no, it wasn't in your yard. what you're concerned with doesn't really matter. what matters is the ACTUAL legal stand in your jurisdiction.
and please answer my question. if this happens again, same situation, who will you blame?

It will most likely be removed in my legal jurisdiction. I will sue and most likely win.
Why should I bother answering your bullshit question when you failed to respond to half the statements I made to you.
I obviously won't let my dogs near the fence and would shoot the rottweiler it tried to attack again. I don't expect theme to be keeping it honestly.

So I guess the next course of action in this thread is, how should you do it? And with what chemical?

Realistically I could just go around shooting them. The police here wouldn't investigate unless I accidentally hit a human. Even then it would be doubtful.
