Well, damn.  I just kinda assumed with how shitty you were talking about the neighbors, but I guess I'd be fired the fuck up too.

If you didn't know I apologize for the insinuation.  Still it's within your power to fix the fence.  I hate people that don't take care of their aggressive animal.  My weim gets aggressive randomly and I make sure he's held onto strong armed style.  He got out once and tackled a jogger to the ground but didn't bite him thank god and I tackled the dog off the guy and drug it into the house.  The dude drove back to my house to make sure the dog was ok lol, he said he had two pits and totally uderstood and thanked me for actually taking action.

He also bit my landlord once, but the dude just walked into my house without knocking.  So my dog was very in the right.

If anything Cali and dem were saying more shit then you van.At least you know not to take it personal round here OP.Entitled to opinions but there was just people in a different thread bitching about how a guy keeps his dog in a crate when he's at work calling him a bad owner, dumbass etc. Then someone who actually is a terrible owner and let's an aggressive Rottweiler roam the yard with a fucked up fence and people here blame the wife with a dog ON A LEASH. Technically that fence is just as much the neighbors responsibility too. In fact it's not legal to replace a fence without consent from the neighbor in certain situations.

The neighbors are indeed terrible. I live in the midwest and they leave it out in sub zero weather all day no dog house etc. Needless to say our dogs aren't going to get back there near the fence anymore anyway. Like I said though animal control here will most likely force them to put in a fence that is satisfactory to them. At least that's what's been done in the past.

Regardless it sucks for their dog. My old dog gilbert hated other dogs, so I kept him on leash and muzzled when near other dogs. I guess I just kinda expected others to do the same.

Man I have got into some heated fuckin arguments with people about crates.  They are all "YOU ARE IMPRISONING THAT DOG!!!!!!" And it's like.....in the wild canines such as wolves and coyotes hunt, and sleep in caves or dens, that's what they do. They feel safe in a kennel when you train them that's their home.  As long as you actually remove it from the cage when you are home, feed it, run it, and love it, it's a very healthy way to raise a dog.  It doesn't give a dog mental issues, yeesh.

Not training it and sticking it in there will fuck it up.  Or leaving it in their covered in shit will.  Or feeding it in the kennel.  People are just dumb as fuck.

I was driving in a van with my dogs once, at night time, it was like 55-60 degrees, and stopped at a friends house just to smoke for a minute, and some stripper at his house was threatening to bust my van windows out to "save" my dogs.....I'm like "thats for hot days when the windows arent cracked and they are in parking lots baking in the sun, my dogs love riding in the car places, and if you bust my windows out with a bat, I'm gonna bust your boyfriends skull with one"......it took me a good ten minutes of screaming with this stranger before she finally conceded and admitted I was right.

My American Bulldog prefers to sleep in her crate. If a dog hates it and injurs itself trying to get out yeah, I agree it's bad. My dog giblert was like that he completely tore a wire one up once and I left him out after that.

Ya some dogs prefer the crate. It's their home if you teach it to be.  Some dogs tear a house up and a crate up and it's because the dog has separation anxiety, and it takes a bit of work and time to fix this.

Put the dog in the crate, stay in the room tell him he's a good dog, keep him calm in the crate, eventually leaving the room, come back in, try to avoid coming in from barking, but if he/she gets destructive to the crate stop it immediately by re entering and calming the dog down, once the dog is calm remove.

Some dogs can not have food and water in the crate, some can.

I couldn't leave my weim out til I got another dog.  Now he's right as rain.  It took a lot to keep my dog healthy, but I pulled through.  He's looking good for 10 years old.

This is the fence it wasn't bent before and the bottom didn't look raised at all.

No, he got multiple stitches. Shoulder area neck, face, etc. No broken bones thankfully. That was just the spot the dog got a hold of him at and pulled him through/under.

My current neighbor's dogs are the same breed,
They have bit my dog before, been in our yard with violet intentions countless apon countless times

Shittty owners and people back there

I can relate OP
And the legal system prevents us from dealing with our neighbors or there dogs

Don't wanna catch a assault or dog man slaughter charge for shooting a dog who is in our yard for th hundredth time barking and growling

On a very real level, I'm pretty sure I would come back and kill that dog and most definitely vandalize that persons house. Just feed the dog poison. But seriously

The owners just sat there and did nothing while watching it? Yeah, Idk about you, but I wouldn't let that shit go. I'd legitimately kill that fucking dog. Feed it poison wrapped in food and laugh at your shitty neighbors for being assholes and shitty dog owners

Neighbor 100 percent at fault.  I can't tell if people are trolling or just that dumb.  Your dog has a right to be on your property and if anything or anyone enters that property and attacks dog they are 100 percent to at fault. In this situation neighbor is 100 percent at fault in views of the law and anyone who isn't a moron.  I wish people would think before they post.

i wish people would actually read posts for what they say instead of READING INTO THEM with their own heated opinions.

what we're saying is this could've been avoided with a small amount of thought on his girlfriend's part.  if you see a rot and assume it's NOT aggressive, then you are the "moron"

also, OP clearly stated there are TWO fences, his privacy fence, and the neighbors' chain-link fence.  further the dog was on a leash

why did the girlfriend take the smaller, weaker dog to the side of the fence containing a larger, stronger dog?  there are at least two, if not three other sides to the fence.

You know they sell rat poison right?
As far as I'm concerned dogs, in a residential area, are fucking pests, and should be treated as such. They're no better than fucking rats.

Want to own a dog? buy yourself a fucking farm where the fucking thing can run around, shit all over, and bark till it loses it's fucking voice.
Not in residential areas. Enough melt for ya sheekal?

edit. oops. didn't mean to include that last sentence.

Because she is allowed to go anywhere on her own property without fear of getting mauled by a dog?  Christmas.  I dont get you people.  If a person walks up to you sitting on your porch and beats the shit out of you it's your fault right.  You should have had castle walls and a mote with drawbridge protecting your porch.  This is silly.  The neighbor is responsible for keeping the dog in their yard.  Fence or no fence.

Aside from the culpability aspect though, it's in the best interest of both neighbors to ensure that there's a proper fence separating the properties that neither dog can get past.

I can dig that.  The neighbor that got attacked should in no way have too though.  Buy some people are trash and don't care what could possibly happen.  I just dont like seeing blame layed on innocent people.

you're applying human "right of ownership" to a non-human animal.  that rot does not conceive of property.  it conceives of territory.  also, the rot did not leave its own yard.  again, learn to read.
