Chalciporus piperatus?
    #23352881 - 06/16/16 10:43 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Habitat:
Found under beech and (I think) coprosma shrub in Christchurch, NZ with a few fly agarics in the vicinity.

Gills:
orangey-brown (cinnamon?) pores.

Stem:
Similar in colour to the pores, strong and fibrous with a vibrant yellow base.

Cap:
Light brown with an almost soft leather feel to it, very smooth and dry (although that could be the fact we haven't had rain in ages).

Spore print color:
printing now.

Bruising:
Darker brown bruising pores, no other noticeable bruising on cap or stem.

No problem! :hatsoff:

In my parts this species is often an indicator for Boletus edulis. So it's usually appreciated.
