I have put a tub in fruiting conditions, is it too soon?
    #23352432 - 06/16/16 08:24 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

This monotub was spawned on 30th May. It has been colonizing for 14 days, with taped holes in a dark place, at about 27 degrees celsius. On June 13th i put it in fruiting conditions (filled the holes with polyfill, introduced lightning). Did i rush the whole process? Has it colonized enough? I really need some advice on when to fruit, does the surface of the substrate has to be all 100% white color? Some good advice will be mostly appreciated. I have 4 more of this boxes colonizing and i don't want to mess them up, since i came so far

Thank you for your time!

Why are there so many holes, just out of curiosity? It's hard to get a good look, but it seems okay to me.

I was waiting for that question  My substrate was a bit on the dry side, so i thought i'd make a few extra holes just in case it needs more FAE. I guess i was wrong, i taped them back.

Your tub looks good. I thought the same thing a couple weeks back, but 14 days at that temp looks fine. Just about a week more till pins man.

If it was dry you'd want less FAE... FAE dries out the tub.

FYI OP, you don't have to keep it in a dark place while colonizing, check the date of the info you are reading. Also you can't screw up putting it into fruiting conditions too early, many people including myself stuff poly in the holes right after spawning.

Stupid me, it was already 5 in the morning when i posted this. I meant WET SIDE, my substrate was a bit too wet.

Thanks for all the info, i'll have to experiment a bit, i'll post the results.

People have been having pretty good runs by putting their tubs into fruiting as soon as they spawn them... So I'm guessing you will be alright man.
