Phenotypic variation due to different habitat?

Kia ora shroomers, hope everyone's hunting is going well. As an almost utter noob, I seek your advice on these shrooms. The light coloured, thin stemmed one is a grass sub I found at the beach a couple of days ago, growing in sandy grass with decaying plant matter all around it. I've collected heaps of subs there this season, and they are mostly perfectly formed with thin straight stems and very golden caps.
The darker one I found in bark yesterday- it has lightened considerably, it was so dark in colour when I first saw it I actually walked past it, but something (thanks shroom god/s) brought me back to it. Unfortunately it is in a public AF place, lots of tradies, students etc walking right past, so I couldn't get habitat pics. But found in the usual bark and flax kind of environment.
Is the bark 'sub' actually a sub, or is it some other kind of psilocybe? It (and a few others I picked from that spot) are all showing the appropriate blueing reaction and purpley-brown spore prints.

Well they are all active Psilocybes, but that's all I can tell you.

Speaking from experience with ovoids, there are huge variances depending on location and substrate. I can't speak to sub's because I'm not in an area where they grow, but if you look at the official ovoid thread, you'll see what I mean. We find them ranging from light brown, to nearly black, some have nipples, others find super wavy caps. Out of the four places I hunt, I find four different looks. I've always thought it had something to do with what the mycelium is feeding off of. Ones found in knotweed usually look completely different from mulch ones. There's so much variance. BTW, nice finds.
