Well I harvest my best shroom on my last cake and it had this sticky blue stuff, I popped it in the dehydrator, is it safe to eat? I'm not sure what it is, or if it is bad..

I have no idea what that is. . . If it concerns you cut it off.

Sticky blue stuff? Weird. You sure the dehydrator was clean? Maybe its pure liquid psilo lol
Just kidding, def cut off anything that concerns you. Was it just on one fruit or what?

It was on both of the "deformed" mushrooms, and not on the good looking specimen. One of the shrooms that had it had touched perlite because the cake fell over. I ended up just tossing those two shrooms, and keeping the good looking one, because I have recently got a good foraging harvest...I'm not giving up though, I am going to keep trying, I really would like to do a monotub instead, as I feel it would be about the same amount of work for a much better yield. Maybe a couple mini monos first until I can dial them in right.

Mini monos and just regular ones are awesome! Yeah, try your hand at a single 1qt tub, you'll likely end up with 1oz or so for your troubles A minitub is actually a bit more annoying to take care of IMO, BUT it is still very easy and the only difference is the amount of spawn and sub. Go for just a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio, it'll work very well. Coir, verm, and just like a handful of gypsum as the substrate. If that works well, next go for 3qts of spawn or so, and that will be enough for a smaller, but real monotub (3 qts is perfect IMO).
The only real thing about tubs is you can make a true mono (one) or you can make a dubtub, which i think many people end up using for small 1qt tubs. Its just a bit more annoying, you take two tubs, and tape one upside down, and to harvest, you have to untape and tape it back. But its really not all that much trouble. But if you find a small tub witn a top thats clear you can use it. It seems to me though, that for small tubs, a dubtub setup might provide more airflow, as there is much more space between the in/out polyfill holes. Just use two small tubs
