i internally judge hoodlum-culture harshly
    #23345504 - 06/14/16 11:43 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

yeah my town is surrounded by all of these low income cities full of 50-cent-wannabe's. whenever i go to the mall or any other big place of interest like that there's all these middle-aged men who wear fake chains and flat-brimmed baseball caps n tatoos all over their face, n fuckin like doo-rags n shit, and i find myself running under the assumption that they're all probably shitty deadbeat parents, maybe cocaine addicts at the least. all probably very  selfish people without a doubt though, under my assumptions

i think this way because throughout my life everybody i grew up with who got really into acting all gangster turned out to be a deadbeat loser douchebag.

i somewhat do G things like saying "word" and "yo" but that's about it. i also like baggy clothes but it's more for how they feel on me than a fashion statement.

i'm mostly just making this thread because i'm bored, but i guess it's mentally unhealthy to think negatively of an entire culture of people, so please share stories of upstanding citizens you've met who just so happened to be all gangsta-gangsta & change my opinion of hoodlums to that of a compassionate and loving variety. tell me about the time you and a large man named Big Poppy say down side by side on a fallen tree in front of a river, skipping rocks across the water and talking about your favorite childhood memories together, and change my views on what it means to be a G, forever.

i know some ex-gangsta types who eventually changed their ways for the better, but i want to hear about people who are currently immersed in gangsta thug rapper culture & are making otherwise thoughtful and considerate life decisions.

I knew one guy who was publicly gangsta, but privately a strong family man who's only option was to sell 'base (He dropped out in 8th grade.) for a few years to pay for land and a double-wide home in cash for his wife who had a spine injury but worked part-time, and her son. He got them out of a single-wide trailer with around 7 or 8 other family members all packed together with cockroaches.

After he got his family set up, he sold for a little while longer to pay off dudes he was in debt to and to help his (actual) brother, cleaned things up for the tax man, then got out of the game. They've lived happily ever after since (about 10 yrs now).

I've known plenty of old school career criminals and they were stand up dudes for the most part. Guys who came from nothing and made something for themselves the only way they knew. I have a lot of respect for them but they were all up around their 40's.

I dunno about the younger generation but arrogance and youth tend to go hand in hand, and I struggle with arrogant people so tend to avoid interacting with younger generations - I don't have a single friend who's not older than me by at least a few years.

Still, I wouldn't judge them the way you've described. One of my best friends comes from the black community, and though he's moved away from thuggish behaviour and is an upstanding family man he still bears the marks of growing up in that culture - the accent, the words, the style & look, the swagger, etc.

Truth is, you just never know what lies in someones heart until you spend time getting to know them. I've been on the receiving end of judgement a lot in my life, hence why I try as hard as I can not to do so myself. It's important to remember that these guys were very likely raised in an environment very different to your own, and we are all products of our environment, whether we like it or not.

Hey  dudes ,

What me really annoyes are these younger piss generations who smoke , get all fed up in the arse from their parents and make as if they are real gansta shit.

Arrogant people bye bye .

Black people are cool.

You get to learn someone really well when you smoke together and see how they really act in that situation. You shouldnt force them tough to smoke.

Bb

Would you walk up to one and say that to their face?
