I'm a big fan of popcorn casing too.

I find it weird that your tallest mushrooms have spores on the caps, but some of the small ones don't.

How bout it! :mushroom2:

That's the way all my grows have been. It is much more than spores 'DROPPING'... rather, spores CIRCULATING or at least absorbing into the cap tissue and surfacing on the top...

...facinating!

I think that as the shroom ages, the spores move to the top. I have seen patches of shrooms in the wild, where the biggest ones had real dark caps.

Good job daywalker!

I hope to have shrooms like that soon. I just injected my first jars of popcorn.

IMO the stripes are from RH going up and down...ie some strains are more picky in enviromental RH/gas exchange than others and the results are stripes..just my 2cents..

as far as spores on the top of the caps afoaf read somewhere on this site that the spores and the caps have a slight electric charge or static electrictiy or something like that. This attracts the spores to stick to the top of the caps he believes. Pease correct if wrong

B+ have the stripe on the stem too.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed... The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people..."

Thanks niteowl!

My other EQ casing didn't fruit as abundantly as the one pictured. Maybe half the number of fruits. And they are also not as tall as the first casing.

I had a theory that the flouro light was causing them to be so long and skinny, so I cut the light exposure to a couple of hours a day after pinning initiated and the result was shorter, fatter fruits.

Heavy C02 buildup can make the fruits 'stretch' for clean O2, but the fanning regimine was identical for both projects (same terrarium).

I had to practically recase as the harvest left some huge divots in the casing layer.

Maybe I should have incubated for a day after recasing?

Well, thanks for the positive feedback. Interesting to hear the theories about the spores and stipes!

Laters!

NICE FRUITS!!!
popcorn is the new black (hehehe)
I love the stuff, tell us if you notice if they are more potent on popcorn.
I seem to have noticed a higher content (could be my overactive imagination)

I get pin stripes on my TC's too!

I remember reading that the spores come out of the caps with explosive force... but i can't understand how they get on top of the cap... I've seen this phenomena on cakes with only one mushroom... i've tried many times to explain it without success

As far as potency goes, I have yet to endulge in mushroms grown out on popcorn, so I can't comment. IME, the Ecuador dosage (PF) must be increased heavily for a visual experience. Heavily as in 5-6g dry, whereas say a Hawaiian takes me to the moon in a 2g dry dose.  :rocket:

By the way - still waiting on the second flush to show up. Right now it looks like Mars on both casings - no signs of life.  :smirk:
